More and more people are choosing to order food online.
Online booking has become a new consumption model in the F&B industry.
While it brings business opportunities to merchants, it is also easy to hide traps.
When I heard that more than a dozen tables of banquets and dozens of orders were booked at one time.
Be sure to keep an eye out for it, and beware of being deceived.
Recently, there has been a ** impersonation of customers
Place a large order on the grounds of setting up a banquet and entertaining distinguished guests
F&B businesses are then required to pre-order their designated products
Designing fake payments to commit fraud
Case review
On March 8, a man claimed to be "Director Liu" of a primary school, and called the merchant to say that the school had activities, and he needed to order 40 meals the next day, and ordered meals for 30 yuan each for three consecutive days, and asked the merchant to add WeChat to discuss the menu.
On the day of the order, "Director Liu" contacted the merchant to buy an additional 20 boxes of Cestbon mineral water and 50 boxes of Buddha jumping over the wall (660 yuan per box), and promised to pay the fee first on WeChat, and then provide a manufacturer to let the merchant communicate with him, and the "manufacturer" asked to pay a deposit first.
The merchant contacted "Director Liu", and after the other party asked the merchant for the bank card number, WeChat showed a screenshot of the transfer of 39,000 yuan, saying that it would take two hours for the corporate account to arrive. The merchant believed it and contacted the "manufacturer" to discuss the payment of the deposit.
Subsequently, "Director Liu" asked for an additional 100 boxes of Buddha jumping over the wall, and after WeChat showed a screenshot of the account transfer, the merchant paid the deposit to the "manufacturer" again, but the "manufacturer" said that the deposit had not arrived and asked for a screenshot of the transfer and transaction details. When the merchant rushed to the bank to ask the staff, the feedback was that the transfer had been successful.
After that, when the merchant contacted the "manufacturer", he found that he had been blocked by the other party, so he realized that he had been deceived and immediately called the police.
Scam analysis
This type of fraud is mainly aimed at merchants, on the grounds of ordering meals + purchasing materials, large orders are **, and the so-called "manufacturers" ** are provided to defraud the merchants' deposits.
1. Contact the merchant under the pretense of an order. **Will obtain the trust of the merchant from the takeaway platform and other channels*** pretend to be the person in charge of the school, regular customers and other identities to deceive the merchant, and then deceive the merchant into the "trap" on the grounds of ordering a large amount of "group meal".
2. Claiming that a specific product is needed. When trust is established with the merchant, the merchant will be asked to prepare some specific products, and many merchants will choose to order for this large order.
3. Take the initiative to pay false reservation fees. **In order to increase the authenticity, a screenshot of the transfer is specially provided, and the time difference is used as an excuse to prevaricate that the merchant has not received the money.
4. The second role "manufacturer" appeared. The so-called "manufacturer" here is actually **, requiring that a "deposit" or "payment" must be paid, once the merchant has a poor sense of prevention, in order to earn a "large order", it is easy to take the bait.
