Uncover the mysterious small country
One of the Nepal Travelogues
Written by Zhang Chongfa
From December 8th to 19th, 2013, a group of 22 people participated in the "Nepal, India, Sri Lanka 12-day Crossing Tour" outbound tour jointly organized by three travel agencies, including Beijing Spring and Autumn Festival, Beijing Youth and Beijing Kanghui.
The plane took off from Hong Kong and first arrived in Nepal. Located in the foothills of the Himalayas, neighboring Nepal may be small, but the ancient architecture of the capital Kathmandu is still very attractive. There, Durbar Square is a World Heritage Site, the Royal Palace of Halumandoka is guarded by Gurka soldiers, and the Kumari Courtyard is inhabited"The patron saint of the nation, the living goddess of Kumari. The living goddess allows visitors to worship at the specified time, in fact, it is to appreciate her beautiful appearance from a distance. The Kathmandapu Temple (also known as the "Dumu Temple") and the Talaiju Temple are also concentrated here.
Built in 1702, the Nyatapola Temple in Badgaon Durbar Square is the tallest Hindu temple in Nepal and is dedicated to Goddess Hitilakshmi. The temple is 30 meters high and requires climbing hundreds of steps from a five-story platform to reach the top, as Nyatapola means five-tiered tower. On both sides of the steps of the Nyatapola temple are the goddesses, eagles, elephants, lions and Hercules, and the lower the statues, the greater the power they represent. It has a total of one hundred and eight wooden slanted pillars carved with various incarnations of Goddess Sidi Lakshmi.
The best way to experience Durbar Square is to climb the stairs to the base of the temple and take a commanding view of the surrounding city.
Nepalese tour guide Xiao Shi (Shi Guangming), only went to China to learn Chinese for 7 months, so his Chinese expression skills are very poor, coupled with his poor knowledge Xi of Nepalese history, a series of palaces and temples in Kathmandu Durbar Square and Badgang Durbar Square, can only simply say what the name is, which year it was built, can not tell the historical events that happened here, let alone tell the historical story. Most of our group members had to look at the exterior and take pictures.
But I'm different from most of the group. Before I left for China, I gathered some information about Nepal. The tour guide couldn't explain it, so I checked the information to see the attractions. Because of this, among the 22 people, only the two of us climbed to the top of the temple and took a lot of bird's-eye views in the sky. The other group members only walked around the ground to take pictures because the tour guide did not introduce them.
Take a high-altitude shot of a corner of the city.
Aerial view, near the palace is densely packed with stalls of various Nepalese ethnic products.
Walk over to the stall and see what you're looking for. Most of the men in our group like Nepalese handicrafts, and the women love Nepalese hand-woven shawls. I just take pictures.
Nepal stipulates that people who do not believe in Buddhism are not allowed to enter the temple. I had to take a photo with the soldiers guarding the temple.
Many ordinary Nepalese, who pay for street stalls, put red dots on their foreheads. Ask the tour guide Xiaoding, he doesn't know what to orderI don't know what kind of custom it is.
There are several pottery workshops, which are made and dried on the streets of the capital, sold on the spot, and chosen at will.
Fruit vendors, hawking along the streets.
Hawkers chase and sell their crafts to Chinese tourists.
Nepal primary schools, open to the street, how quiet the classroom is.
Nepal traffic police officers hold a baton and stand on the side of the road chatting.
A small shop in the capital of Nepal.
The public men's toilet on the street of Nepal's capital has no doors and windows, and the peeing is open, which is really **.
