Recently, Jiangxi Satellite TV produced and broadcast the "Belt and Road" special program "Chinese Rite Ceramic Season", which attracted the attention of the audience. The program creates a "Chinese Rite Workshop", and invites 16 outstanding ceramic artists at home and abroad to customize porcelain gifts for international friends who have contributed to the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", and tells the heart-warming story of the people-to-people connection between China and the countries that jointly build the "Belt and Road".

"Chinese Rites: Ceramics Season" starts from the "ceremony", combines ceramic culture with film and television culture, and shows the charm of Chinese culture. Chinese ceramics have a long history, many varieties, clever design, far-reaching spread and great influence, which can be said to be world-famous. It is not only an important business card of Chinese civilization, but also an important cultural symbol of China's courtesy to the world and to the world. The production process of ceramics is extremely complicated, which needs to go through the processes of soil mining, mud training, blank drawing, blank repair, drying blank, decoration, glazing, etc., and finally reborn in the quenching of kiln fire, and transformed into exquisite porcelain. There is a subtle isomorphism between this process and the conclusion of friendly international relations. Countries need to face the storm together and help each other in order to blossom into a sincere friendship. Therefore, the birth process of ceramic works as a Chinese ritual is a vivid commentary on the good development of international relations.

Focusing on the birth of Chinese rites, the program is presented in the form of "culture + competition + observation", and sets up three spaces: the observation room where the host team is located and the organizer and four experts, the "arena" composed of 16 artists and the public judges, and the art production space led by specific ceramic artists. Among them, the main group brings together contemporary cultural scholars, literary critics, potters, etc., to explain the history of ceramics with professional vision and popular language, and lead the audience to start a journey of ceramic culture. In the "Arena", 16 artists are divided into groups and compete. The tense and exciting links and suspenseful scenes make the show more watchable and participatory. In the creative space led by the artists, the choreographer uses the camera to record the process of exquisite ceramic artworks from creativity to implementation, showing the artists' rigorous and focused creative state. The three spaces are alternately edited, with main and secondary, interlocking, so that the rhythm of the program is relaxed, and the structure is through from end to end, not only showing the beauty of ceramics from multiple angles, including the beauty of warm and moist jade, clear and clear temperament, the beauty of ingenious and varied shapes, the beauty of artistic conception and vivid ornamentation, the practical beauty of never fading, healthy and environmentally friendly, and also delicately showing the profound cultural spirit in the process of porcelain-making, such as the spirit of craftsmanship, the spirit of cooperation, the spirit of inheritance, the spirit of innovation, etc., as well as the beauty of human feelings and humanity scattered in daily life.

The creation of "Chinese Rites and Ceramics Season" also shows an excellent international vision. While showing the process of making Chinese gifts for international friends from Thailand, Tunisia and other countries, the work is interspersed with stories about these respectable and lovely international friends who have contributed to the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" and written a chapter of friendly exchanges between China and foreign countries with practical actions. Since the ceramic artworks produced in the program are to be presented to international friends, the artist must consider the cultural characteristics of the country where the international friends are located and the tastes and preferences of international friends in the creative process. Chinese arts and crafts master Liu Wei and apprentice Xiong Zhihua accepted the commission of Princess Sirindhorn Primary School on Pioneer Road in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province, to customize a porcelain gift to Thai friends. In order to complete the porcelain ceremony, Liu Wei rummaged through the sketchbooks that had previously recorded ceramic shapes, revisited the museum to find inspiration for the shapes, Xiong Zhihua collected information related to Thai culture and geography, and decided to take on the challenge of painting a magnificent picture of the fusion of Chinese and Thai landscapes in the form of combining traditional Chinese painting and modern art. It can be said that the 16 ceramic artworks born in the program all combine or refer to cultural elements of other countries to varying degrees. Chinese and foreign cultures blend harmoniously, bursting out with a sense of diversity and profound beauty.

As a special program for the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, "Chinese Rite and Ceramics Season" uses porcelain as a medium and porcelain as a gift, witnessing the blossoming of the "Belt and Road", witnessing the fruitful results of Sino-foreign friendship, and also witnessing the broad and broad ceramic culture and even Chinese culture in the new era, opening up new ideas for the international expression of film and television creation.
