College counselors and homeroom teachers are two different concepts, but sometimes people mistakenly confuse them.

The job responsibilities and role orientation of college counselors and class teachers are different. Counselors are mainly responsible for students' ideological and political education, psychological counseling, employment guidance, etc., while class teachers focus more on class management and student affairs, such as class scheduling, examinations, attendance, etc.

In Chinese universities, the roles of counselors and class teachers are clearly divided. Tutors are generally directly managed by the school's party committee or student affairs department, while class teachers are managed by their faculties. Counselors are usually responsible for student work for an entire grade level or major, while class teachers are responsible for student work for a class.

Although the job responsibilities of counselors and class teachers are different, they both serve students. In practice, counsellors and class teachers need to work closely together to provide better services and support to students. At the same time, students should also understand the responsibilities and working styles of counsellors and class teachers in order to better seek help and support.

In conclusion, college counselors and homeroom teachers are two different concepts, but both serve students. While their responsibilities and ways of working are different, they are both indispensable supporters in the growth and development of students.
