On 15 December, the Ministry of Electronics Development and Communications and the Communications Regulatory Commission jointly held a discussion event on the draft amendment to the Communications Act. The main purpose of this discussion is to make public the draft amendment to the Communications Law in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution that prohibit and restrict communication networks from infringing on the people's rights to express their opinions, express their opinions, and express themselves, and to solicit public opinions.
During the discussion, Deputy Minister of Electronics Development and Communications JErhembaatar assessed the consequences of the implementation of the Communications Law, which is being developed by the working group established by Decree A 09 of the Minister of Electronics and Development and Communications of February 9. Based on the results of the assessment, the law was amended in 2023 and a speech and presentation on the draft law was made in the declaration.
The main contents of the draft amendment to the Communications Act include strengthening the independence and independence of the Communications Management Commission (CRC), creating a legal environment for the training of CRC personnel, amending the terms defined in the law, amending some terms in the law and content related to the field of CRC. It focuses on regulating principled issues such as putting an end to duplicate inspection activities, abolishing the legal provisions on number porting services, increasing the responsibility of those responsible for violating the law, and improving the provisions on the protection of telecommunications infrastructure. The draft also expresses support for licensed service providers in the field of communications and information technology.
Representatives from the Mongolian Union of Journalists, the ** Committee, the Mongolian ** Association, the Mongolian FM Broadcasting Association, as well as Ondo LLC, Skytel LLC, Datacom LLC and others expressed their views at the event and held an open discussion on the draft amendments to the Communications Law. This announcement and discussion activity provided useful feedback and suggestions for the further improvement of the draft amendment to the Communications Act.
