How exactly should this paleolithic site, which is at least 130,000 years old, be presented to the public?On December 9th, the feasibility study seminar on the protection and utilization of the Piluo Ruins Park was held in Ziyang, from Peking University, the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Jilin University, Hebei Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, Shanxi Museum, Sichuan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, Sichuan Museum and other institutions and units of experts unanimously suggested that the Piluo site should accelerate the construction of an archaeological site park and site museum with international standards, and unveil the mystery of the ancient human conquest of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
The Pilo site is the earliest, largest and most diverse Paleolithic site on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and is known as a "new archaeological discovery of great social and political significance in the world". Not only is it at least 130,000 years old, but more importantly, it is located at the eastern foot of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with an altitude of about 3,750 meters, proving that humans at that time had begun to conquer the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, which was not suitable for human habitation. In particular, the oriental Acheauli technology culture represented by the site has a high international significance, which is an important witness to explore the historical process of early human beings ascending the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the early human community with a shared future.
At the seminar, the experts once again emphasized the international importance of the Pillo site, and agreed that it is very necessary to build a site park and a site museum to protect, display and utilize the archaeological achievements. Experts suggest that the exhibition of the ruins museum should take the Piluo site as the core, supplemented by the highlights and characteristics of Daocheng County's nature, history, culture and folk customs, so as to create a new landmark of cultural tourism with rich historical and cultural connotationsDuring the construction of the heritage park, the coordination between the construction project and the archaeological work, the building itself and the surrounding environment, and the practicability of the internal space of the building should be ensured. In addition, it is especially necessary to expand the horizon, improve the position, position the site internationally, put the site under the international perspective and the overall framework of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and do a good job in the design of the exhibition content of the site museum, enrich the cultural connotation, and enhance the attraction to the public.
