On December 16, the "Training Course on Standardized Management of Gestational Diabetes and Nutritional Intervention during Pregnancy" sponsored by the China Maternal and Child Health Association, and the Expert Seminar on the Compilation of the Third Edition of "Gestational Diabetes Mellitus: Clinical Practice Guidelines" were successfully held in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. In order to promote the effective implementation of the project, improve the standardized management ability and personnel training of gestational diabetes in maternal and child health care institutions at all levels, and improve the comprehensive ability of clinicians, the association recently held the "GDM Project Training Course" in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province.

The opening ceremony of the training was presided over by Professor Cui Shihong of Henan Provincial Maternal and Child Health Hospital, and Wang Xinjun, President of Henan Provincial Maternal and Child Health Hospital, and Yu Xiaoqian, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of China Maternal and Child Health Association, made opening speeches respectively. At the meeting, Professor Yang Huixia gave a keynote speech on "Overview of the Standardized Management Project of Gestational Diabetes and Pregnancy Nutrition Intervention", according to her, "The first 1000 days of life is a window of opportunity for human health, which has a profound impact on the health of the whole life cycle. Therefore, the incidence of nutrition-related diseases during pregnancy and childbirth, including GDM, is high, which deserves the attention of the whole society. The purpose of this GDM standardized training and academic exchange activity is to improve the ability of GDM standardized management and talent training in hospitals at all levels, and to enhance the comprehensive ability of clinicians. ”

Subsequently, Professor Chen Danqing from the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Professor Ma Yuyan from Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, Professor Chen Haitian from the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, and Professor Song Geng from the First Hospital of Peking University respectively shared professional interpretation and clinical guidance on the standardization and monitoring of pregnancy hyperglycemia.

Professor Cui Shihong from Henan Provincial Maternal and Child Health Hospital and Professor Chen Xu from Tianjin Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital also brought typical case analysis and experience sharing of the project guidance center of "Standardized Management of Gestational Diabetes and Pregnancy Nutrition Intervention" based on past cases.

As the first training of the GDM project, this training is of great guiding significance for future work, helping to determine gestational diabetes and pregnancy nutrition interventions, realizing the continuous optimization of maternal and infant health services and health protection, and playing an active role in comprehensively safeguarding maternal and infant health.

The authoritative guide ushered in expert discussions, and the scientific research force was refocused.

In order to better provide high-quality and efficient medical and health services, prevent and resolve major diseases of GDM and sudden maternal and infant risks, the China Maternal and Child Health Association took this opportunity to focus on the clinical practice of gestational diabetes mellitus, and held an expert seminar on the compilation of the third edition of "Diabetes Mellitus in Gestational Complications: Clinical Practice Guidelines", aiming to help more medical staff in clinical practice** Pregnancy complicated with diabetes mellitus points out the direction and broadens the thinking of maternal and child health work for front-line medical professionals.

More than 40 experts, including leaders of the China Maternal and Child Health Association, on-site and online, participated in the heated discussion and put forward many insights for the compilation of the Guidelines. Among them, Professor Yang Huixia said on the spot, "The problem of maternal nutrition in China has gradually become prominent, among which the professional capacity is insufficient, and the GDM lacks standardized management. Therefore, it is very important to carry out the project of 'Early Intervention and Protecting Mother and Baby' - Standardized Management of Gestational Diabetes and Nutrition Intervention during Pregnancy'. She emphasized that the project has achieved standardized management of gestational diabetes and pregnancy nutrition intervention through the establishment of a project expert group, the establishment of a national guidance center, the development of standardized training and academic exchange activities for GDM, the promotion of nutrition and health science during pregnancy, and the implementation of AI-assisted healthy lifestyle intervention during pregnancy to improve the short- and long-term outcomes of mothers and children.

It is reported that the reprint of "Pregnancy with Diabetes Mellitus: Clinical Practice Guidelines" by the People's Medical Publishing House is expected to be completed in March 2024.
