SOLIDWORKS Simulation Finite Element Techniques Simulate mistakes when placing items

In SOLIDWORKS Simulation, we know that simulation can perform finite element analysis of components and assemblies, and in this case, in order to simplify the analysis and reduce unnecessary calculations, we often choose to simplify the entire assembly or component, as shown in Figure 2

Figure 1.

Figure II. This is a wooden block placed on a table, usually in order to simplify the model, we will choose to remove the wooden block, calculate the force exerted by the wooden block on the whole table in reality, and then load it in the form of pressure on Figure 1 to simulate the wooden block.

And the misunderstanding in this will be the result of our calculations in reality.

In the comparison of Figure 1 and Figure 2, we can see that the maximum and minimum of the overall stress produces quite different results.

The reason for this lies in our real-world calculations. No matter how we calculate in reality, as long as we do not have numbers that can be accurately reached by computers, such as gravity and numerical factors of materials, we will never be able to achieve the optimal solution.

Therefore, in the future simplification process, we need to consider what kind of simplification is the simplification we need, rather than blindly reducing or changing the model and ignoring the advantages of the computer.
