This morning (December 24), the world's largest and China's first large-scale rake suction dredger with dual-fuel power system "New Sea Sturgeon" was launched, which marks the R&D, design and construction of China's LNG-powered rake suction dredger to fill the gap of clean energy dredger.
The rake suction dredger is a kind of dredging construction vessel, which is mainly responsible for dredging waterways and river silt. It sucks up the mud and sails at the same time, sucking in the mud through the rake and working like a vacuum cleaner.
The 15,000 cubic meter harrow suction dredger of the "New Sea Sturgeon" was invested by CCCC Shanghai Navigation Bureau, contracted by the Dredging Technology Research Center, and built by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry. The total length of the ship is 1557 meters, 32 meters wide, full load draft 99 meters, the maximum capacity of the mud tank is 17,000 cubic meters. There are three floors below the main deck, the bottom floor is where the main engine, generator and other equipment are placed, the middle floor is placed with the control console, power distribution board and other control systems, and the upper main deck is placed with cranes and dredging systems. The vessel is currently the world's largest LNG, diesel dual-fuel powered rake suction dredger.
According to the on-site technical personnel, the ship is equipped with the most advanced and intelligent "one-key dredging" and "dredging and driving in one" system, at the same time, the ship uses dual-fuel power, mainly LNG, and can enable the backup diesel power system under the condition that LNG filling can not be met, and the two can be switched in time to achieve the purpose of green energy saving to the greatest extent.
The ship is expected to be delivered in September 2024, and will be mainly used for dredging and reclamation of coastal ports and deep-water waterways, as well as coastal maintenance projects, which is of great significance to promote the development of domestic green shipping.
