In order to meet the rising demand for electricity load in Huizhou, Huizhou Power Supply Bureau has accelerated the construction of power grids and built a strong grid suitable for large-scale new energy development. In 2023, as the power transmission and distribution hub of the Greater Bay Area, Huizhou will fully complete the commissioning of 7 projects in the Huizhou section of the Guangdong target grid, with a total length of 560 kilometers of transmission lines.
To build a more reliable power grid, the Huizhou Power Supply Bureau has built 47 substations in four years, put into operation 110 thousand volts and 2,922 kilometers of transmission lines. In 2023, 8 substations will be put into operation despite many difficulties. In addition, 942 kilometers of 110 kV transmission lines, 538 kilometers of 500 kV transmission lines, and 5 target grids have been put into operation, ranking first in the province in terms of scale.
At present, Huizhou Power Grid has a total of 196 public substations of 35 thousand volts and above, including 7 500 thousand volt substations, and the length of lines above 35 thousand volts is 9,202 kilometers, ranking first in the province.
In recent years, the number of new substations and the length of transmission lines in Huizhou have ranked among the top in the province. ExxonMobil Huizhou ethylene project is one of the major foreign investment projects in China, located in Huizhou Daya Bay Petrochemical Park, with a total investment of more than 10 billion US dollars. In order to serve the project well, Huizhou Power Supply Bureau set up a working group before the start of construction to understand the electricity demand in advance and help improve the power supply reliability of temporary electricity.
According to Hu Chao, the project completed the temporary telegraph installation process to meet the needs of the start of construction in only 22 days, which was shortened by one and a half months compared with other projects with the same power consumption.
In addition, starting from the construction cycle of the power grid and meeting the diverse needs of customers, Huizhou Power Supply Bureau has innovated a new model of electricity service and launched a "package" of electricity and energy consumption services such as "plug-in" service, permanent power leasing, continuous power leasing, temporary transformer sharing, park continuous power supply scheme, credit + power service, etc. Hengli Petrochemical PTA project, located in Daya Bay Petrochemical Zone, has become the first 10,000-volt single cable leasing customer in the province, saving about 8 million yuan in electricity costs.
