Barcelona came into a hard-fought 3-2 win in La Liga on Wednesday, thanks to Sergi Roberto's two second-half goals. The Catalans dominated the first half but couldn't capitalise on their chances, with only Raphinha netting a goal in the 33rd minute. Almeria equalised just before half-time and Leo Baptistao's goal was initially disallowed by the VAR but was later confirmed.
Roberto gave Barcelona the lead again in the 60th minute when he scored with a header. However, Almeria quickly responded with a goal from Edgar González in the 71st minute, taking advantage of a mistake by Barcelona goalkeeper Inaki Peña. With the clock ticking, Roberto sealed the victory to Barcelona with a close-range shot that went through the legs of the Almeria goalkeeper.
The win moved Barcelona back into third place in the league table, overtaking Atletico Madrid, but they were still six points behind leaders Girona and four behind second-placed Real Madrid, both teams with an unplayed game. In the Bundesliga, Union Berlin boosted their relegation hopes by beating Cologne 2-0. Benedict Holler opened the scoring in the first half and David Datrow Forge sealed the victory in the 78th minute through a pass from Kevin Woland. The win lifted Union Berlin out of the relegation zone and gave hope for the rest of the season.
