Recently, the "Guangdong Provincial Basic Medical Insurance, Work-related Injury Insurance and Maternity Insurance Drug Catalogue (2024 Edition)" (hereinafter referred to as the "2024 Edition Guangdong Drug Catalogue") was issued, containing a total of 6,365 drugs, which will be implemented from January 1, 2024.
The 2024 edition of the Guangdong Drug Catalogue is the standard for the payment of drug costs for basic medical insurance, work-related injury insurance and maternity insurance in Guangdong Province, which is divided into six parts: ordinary medicine, western medicine, Chinese patent medicine, national negotiated drugs (including competitive drugs, the same below), traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces, and hospital preparations. There are a total of 6,365 drugs in the 2024 edition of the Guangdong Drug Catalogue, including 1,698 Western medicines, 1,390 Chinese patent medicines, 1,655 Chinese herbal decoction pieces, and 1,622 hospital preparations. The new drugs in this adjustment are included in the payment scope according to the regulations, and the drugs that are transferred out are simultaneously transferred out of the payment scope.
In the 2024 edition of the Guangdong Drug Catalogue, the western medicine part and the Chinese patent medicine part, the basic medical insurance payment is divided into class A and B, and the national negotiation drugs, traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces, and hospital preparations are all class B drugs.
For Class A drugs, there is no individual out-of-pocket ratio, and the basic medical insurance** pays according to the regulations. For Class B drugs, the insured will pay a certain percentage by himself, and then the basic medical insurance** will pay according to the regulations. The proportion of individual self-payment shall be determined by each overall planning area and reported to the Provincial Medical Insurance Bureau for the record. Work-related injury insurance and maternity insurance are not divided into categories A and B.
The national negotiated drugs implement the national unified medical insurance payment standard, and the national organization that is newly included in the catalogue will take the selected drugs as the payment standard, and the co-ordination area will determine its self-payment ratio and reimbursement ratio according to its affordability.
The 2024 edition of the Guangdong Drug Catalogue will be implemented uniformly across the province from January 1, 2024, which can better meet the drug needs of the insured people, standardize the handling and management, and improve the level of medical security for the insured peopleThe 2023 drug list will be abolished at the same time.
