In 2022, Shen Tao, a "post-90s" researcher, joined the Center for Transformative Molecular Frontier Science of Shanghai Jiaotong University, focusing on the selective activation and recombination of inert bonds and green synthetic chemistry. What he didn't expect was that after just filling out a few pages of application materials and explaining one of his creative ideas, he won the school's C project funding.
