The location advantage of the Yangtze River Delta and the vitality of the industrial chain agglomeration are acting on the foreign trade development environment, which has brought about the sustained and stable growth of the Yangtze River Delta in the past five years, and has become an important driving force for the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region. During this period, Shanghai Customs has given full play to its advantages as a "bridgehead" for foreign trade, and has continuously helped the scale and efficiency of import and export business to continuously improve through modes and mechanisms such as "river-sea combined transport", "departure confirmation", "linkage pick-up and unloading" and "multimodal transport".
Through the "river-sea combined transport", after the export cars are loaded on the domestic trade ships in the ports along the Yangtze River, they can be unloaded at the Haitong Wharf of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Port Area located at the mouth of the Yangtze River, and then they can be directly loaded on the foreign trade ships and sailed to overseas markets. The "departure confirmation" mode with full coverage of the Yangtze River basin has been realized, and the "parallel" handling of terminal tallying, river vessel booking and customs transfer declaration business has been realized, and the customs clearance time has been reduced by more than 50% compared with the traditional customs transfer mode. In addition, the "linkage pick-up and unloading" has been replicated and promoted in 12 ports, including Taicang Port in Jiangsu, Wuhu Port in Anhui Province, and Anji Port in Zhejiang, benefiting more than 500 import and export enterprises.
