UK high school students generally need to complete IGCSE courses and then continue to study A-levels for two years before they can apply to university. However, in the transition of domestic high school students to A-level courses, they generally choose 2 years of IGCSE courses as a bridging course, or 1 year of A-level preparatory courses.
At present, most A-level training institutions or international learning institutions in the country admit students in the third or second year of junior high school. The regular A-level study plan is as follows:
Junior high school graduates, basic English, IGCSE 2 years and 2 years A-level courses. Junior high school graduates and students with a good foundation in English study IGCSE or Pre-A-Level 1 year and 2 year A-level courses. Sophomores with a high foundation in English study directly for 2 years at A-level. Part-time students can prepare to study A-levels at the beginning of their senior year.
