A surface water BOD analyzer is an instrument used to measure biological oxygen demand in water bodies. Biological oxygen demand (BOD) is the amount of oxygen consumed by microorganisms to grow in a certain amount of water, and is an environmental monitoring index, which is mainly used to monitor the pollution status of organic matter in water bodies.
The determination principle of the surface water BOD analyzer is: under the specified conditions, the amount of dissolved oxygen consumed by the biochemical process carried out by microorganisms to decompose certain oxidizable substances present in water, especially organic matter. The process is carried out for a long time, such as under 20 culture conditions, the whole process takes 100 days, according to the current international unified regulations, at the temperature of 20 1, the result measured after five days of incubation is called five days of biochemical oxygen demand, recorded as BOD5, and its unit is expressed by mass concentration mg L.
Surface water BOD analyzers are used in a wide range of applications, including but not limited to industry, electric power, agriculture, medicine, food, scientific research and environmental protection. At the same time, it is also a necessary inspection equipment for QS and HACCP certification in food factories and drinking water plants.
