Mondo Education Updated on 2024-01-31

Did you take your driver's license test this year? The pass rates for driving test centres across Ireland in 2023 have now been announced, so let's take a look at how drivers across the country are doing this year.

According to data released by the Irish Road Safety Authority, in the first ten months of the year, the number of drivers who passed the test has already surpassed the number of those who failed.

Data obtained from the Road Safety Authority shows the specific pass rate of driver's license tests conducted at 60 test centres across the country between January and October this year.

The data also reveals an interesting phenomenon: the Skibbereen driving test centre in western Cork is particularly outperforming, with a pass rate of 732%。In contrast, the Charlestown driving test centre in north Dublin had the highest failure rate at 382% of drivers pass the test here.

In the first ten months of the year, 41 of the 60 driving test centers recorded more people passing than failing.

It is worth noting that of the 20 centers with the highest pass rates, only 5 are located in the Leinster area. However, a whopping 13 of the 20 centers with the lowest pass rates are located in the region.

The situation in Dublin is particularly interesting. Of the six centres with the lowest pass rates, five are located in Dublin. But there are exceptions, and Dun Laoghaire Deansgrange is the only driving test center in the capital that has more people passing than failing this year.
