After five years of study, he went to study at Liangfeng Primary School in Yangshe. During his studies, the math teacher took a lot of care of him as a friend of his father. At that time, many teachers influenced him, so that he had the idea of becoming a teacher very early. After graduating from primary school in 1925, Wang Chengxu continued to study at Liangfeng Middle School. And this ** normal study is an important turning point that makes Wang Chengxu embark on the road of teaching.

Wang Chengxu is the editor-in-chief of "Outline of the Comparative History of Chinese and Foreign Education".

Wang Chengxu translated Principles of Education

Zhejiang University bonded. In 1932, Wang Chengxu was sent to the Department of Education of Nanjing ** University for further study. The school's teaching activities are mainly designed according to the theory of progressive education, and Wang Chengxu accepted the viewpoint of progressive education and became interested in Dewey's educational thought. In the 30s of the 20 th century, the "theory of education to save the country" was quite popular in China, and Wang Chengxu was also deeply influenced, coupled with the education he received at the normal school, all of which prompted him to form the concept of learning from foreign excellent experience and developing his own educational undertakings.

A year later, when Wang Chengxu was about to go to study at the Department of Education of Nanjing ** University, CUHK expelled the president**, and the school stopped recruiting students for that year. At this time, it is no longer possible to take the entrance exams of other schools. Just as Wang Chengxu was hesitating, Mr. Wu Boang, the head of the normal department of Wuxi Middle School, reached out and wrote a letter of introduction to Professor Zheng Xiaocang, then the head of the Department of Education of Zhejiang University. This letter not only solved Wang Chengxu's urgent need, but also made him an indissoluble bond with Zhejiang University.

In 1932, Wang Chengxu came to Hangzhou to meet Mr. Zheng Xiaocang with a letter of recommendation from Mr. Wu Boang. At the end of 1946, when President Zhu Kezhen visited the UK, he also invited Wang Chengxu and his wife to return to Zhejiang University. Facing the invitation of the teachers of his alma mater, Wang Chengxu was quite moved and delighted. In January 1947, Wang Chengxu and his wife left the UK on the first post-war cargo ship bound for China, and returned to their motherland after more than three months.

After returning to China, Zhejiang University was demobilized and returned to the east after seven years of moving westward to run the school. Although the conditions for running the school are very simple, the prices in Hangzhou are soaring, and life is hard, Wang Chengxu has no regrets about his choice to return to China. He always believes that studying abroad is to learn skills and serve the motherland. This is a matter of course, and there is no need for a special reason, not for fame, not for profit, not for enjoyment, just like a wandering person who has to return to his roots after all.
