2023 is a very special year in my life.
In 2013, after graduating with a major in journalism, I worked as a reporter for national news, and later worked as a financial editor for 7 years, and also wrote on a side job for 7 years.
After 10 years of writing, in 2023, I will pay for knowledge for the first time and launch a book review writing training camp, recruiting 300+ students, earning more than 300,000+, commenting on students' book review articles of more than 800,000 words, and the course has received rave reviews.
Take students to start with in-depth reading, write book reviews, make accounts, upload manuscripts, become signed authors, write explosive articles, and monetize.
This year, I did 80+ ** live broadcasts, and 200+ articles were updated on the official account, of which 80 were "Learning to Write from Famous Artists" series of articles.
Thanks to 2023, I will transform smoothly, run through my own business closed loop, step into the field of knowledge payment, do what I like, and no longer have internal friction.

Before the launch of the book review writing course in March 2023, I spent the whole year of 2022 groping in the dark, with only one goal - to find a second path outside my main business, to become a personal brand, and continue to monetize my writing.

In the end, there is only one thing to anchor - reading books + writing book reviews.
Reading made me calm down, let go of impetuousness and internal friction, and books became my life coach;After reading, I wrote a book review, so as to test how deeply I had read, and in the output again and again, I healed myself and sorted out the future direction little by little.
Opportunities always arise inadvertently, and when I keep outputting quality book reviews, my friends in my circle of friends ask me questions about writing book reviews. It dawned on me, yes, just do a book review writing class!
Because the core logic of knowledge payment is that I have a specialty in some aspect, which can just solve the pain points and needs of users.
Today, I am taking 300+ book review camp students on the road of self-growth, writing improvement, and self-esteem.
The book review camp core does three things:
Take students to read deeply, write book reviews, comb themselves + heal themselves.
Take students to start as a novice, learn to write book reviews, and learn to write self-leading articles.
Take students to write for realization, including manuscripts, and earn income from ** accounts.
Key words for 2023: running
2023 is a year of hard running, of course, to do better, but the original purpose is to "live", in order to gain a foothold, and open up a second path outside the main business. I've always considered it "the most important thing in my 30s."
So, make up your mind.
During the Spring Festival of 2023, I will not go back to my hometown for the New Year (the child was taken to my hometown by my mother), stay in Hangzhou, use the holiday to sort out the course content, and make preparations in all aspects.
During the Spring Festival in 2023, I stayed in Hangzhou to do many live broadcasts.
From March to April, the first phase of the book review camp opened, recruiting 60+ students, and those two months were the busiest, taking students for the first time, doing courses, doing deliveries, doing live broadcasts, and writing official accounts.
I've seen the starry sky at 1, 3, 5 a.m. The latest one, I was busy until more than 5 o'clock in the morning, and slept until 7 o'clock to get up to prepare breakfast for my children.
It is necessary not only to maintain the work of the main financial editor, but also to take the students to do the delivery, but also to recruit the next batch of new students, and there are no elderly people at home who need to bring their own babies. It's really hard.
Now looking back on those days, it was all supported by dreams, and I hung a breath of fairy airThere is only one goal - to do it with all your might, and there is no other choice.
After finishing work, I went downstairs at 2 a.m. to relax.
In 2023, except for one time I took my children to Shanghai Disneyland during the summer vacation and went out to meet friends once in October, I will have no travel or socialization throughout the year, and all my time and energy will be spent on work.
During the May Day holiday, there is no rest, main business + side business with students + update the official account.
During the eleventh holiday, I don't rest, I do many live broadcasts, change the public account every day, give lectures to students, and comment on homework.
It's not so much that you don't have time to stop, it's that you don't dare to stop.
I want to avoid all distractions and maintain the purity of what I do, so that I can do something in the shortest possible time, break through the threshold, and never fall off again.
Pushed by fate, he became a freelancer
In this year of running, leaving my job has become an accelerator for me to run.
In the first half of the year, I was still working as a financial editor, and my side hustle could only be done after I was busy with my main business, and I could only do live broadcasts in the evenings or on weekends.
I always feel uncomfortable in such days, but I can't do it, I can only take care of both sides.
In the middle of the year, the business of my department changed due to uncontrollable external factors, and I was laid off.
At that moment, I really didn't know whether to lose or rejoice.
At first it was dazed, then it was grateful. If it weren't for this emergency, I might still be juggling my main business and doing classes, and there is a high probability that I would have been very internal.
Before that, I asked myself many times, "When can I leave my job and concentrate on my classes", but I never answered. Until fate pushed me and let me leave the workplace.
So, you just have to work hard, and your fate has its own arrangement.
After I left my job, I ran faster, increased the frequency of live broadcasts, and increased the time commitment to the course. The income has also increased visibly, with an income of 100,000 yuan in 4 months in the first half of the year and 200,000 yuan in 5 months in the second half of the year.
I am really grateful for this luck, and I am also grateful for the company's compensation, so that I don't need to run for my livelihood in the short term, and I am not impetuous and confident on the road.
Recently, I found out that many of my class income is still stored in the "change" of Little Goose Pass, ** store, and WeChat payment, and I have not withdrawn it or used it for financial management.
This is not Versailles, but to say that in the past year, I have worked hard, but not exactly for money, but for "doing a good job in classes and leading students".
During the year, I hardly worried about money and just wanted to get things done. Therefore, I can settle down, do content, live broadcast, and delivery.
If you only run for money, your actions will be deformed, and the result may not be as you wish, and your heart will inevitably be anxious.
So, here's a word of advice: if you have limited savings and your side hustle is unstable, don't rush to leave your job. In the current economic situation, it is good to have a stable job, and it is not too late to leave when the time is right. (There is no shortage of money, another said).
The principle of doing things in 2023: extreme focus and continuous iteration
This year, I only did one class - the book review writing training camp, not that I didn't think about doing other classes, I also thought about doing a book club, etc., but in the end I held myself back and only did one class.
Extreme focus and continuous iteration are my principles for doing things in 2023.
Spend all your energy and do only one thing well, which means doing fine and steady.
The book review camp was originally launched as a single session, and after two months of reading + writing with 60+ students, several students wanted to continue learning from me. So, I launched a half-year card, and half of the students were upgraded.
In August, these friends finished half a year of study and wanted to continue to learn from me, so I took the opportunity to launch the annual card, and a large number of students renewed their annual cards.
Nowadays, there are many students with annual cards, and I have pulled an exclusive group of students with annual cards, and I have won the benefits of free shipping and book reviews from the publishing house. Everyone can enjoy free new books, save money to buy books, and force themselves to read and write book reviews.
In the past year, I have taken many students to start from novices, learn to write book reviews, get the first manuscript, and become a signed author.
Take the students to learn to write book reviews, open their own ** account, write 100,000+ explosive articles, get thousand+ income, and start to receive advertisements to monetize.
Behind the extreme focus and continuous iteration is to lay a solid foundation and continue to accumulate.
For example, if I continue to review students' assignments, each assignment is at least 80,000 words, or even more than 100,000 words, which means that in less than a year, I have reviewed more than 800,000 words of book review articles.
For another example, this year, I did 80 live broadcasts with +**, and there were only more than 100 people at the beginning, and then there were 1000+ people at most. The duration of a live broadcast has increased from 1 hour at the beginning to 3 hours later.
Initially, sharing a 1-hour live broadcast required preparing a manuscript of tens of thousands of words in advance, but later a 3-hour + live broadcast only needed to sort out a mind map 1 hour in advance, and it could be output freely.
Sometimes there is no deal for several live broadcasts in a row, and slowly there are transactions in the live broadcast room, and the income of a live broadcast is 4000+.
When I give a lot and get little results, I will also be disappointed, but I will tell myself: as long as I continue to do something worthwhile, the results will come naturally, just work hard and wait for the flowers to bloom.
Never overestimate the results of one or two efforts, but never underestimate the accumulation of hard work for a year or two.
In 2023, you can really figure out one thing: you can get happiness and money by being yourself
Looking back on the whole year of 2023 now, I still feel in a trance, because this year's growth has exceeded the previous three or five years.
It's growing fast because I'm running, but if you ask me to say the most important thing, I'd sayBecause I'm myself, I have very little internal friction and a steady stream of motivation for me to continue to innovate, iterate, and sprint.
Through this year's experience and training, I have come to understand more and more: on the road of writing, freelancing, and being a super individual, you must be yourself, which is the most comfortable, energetic, and sustainable.
The first course I did, the "Book Review Training Camp", did not go to the popularity, popularity, and dividends, but followed my own advantages, starting from the reading and writing of book reviews that I recognized in my heart and benefited me the most, so as to bring value and growth to students.
So, when I develop my second course, I will still follow this principle, which makes me comfortable and reassuring.
Because I know very well that what is being mined is the well of "myself", seeking inward more than outward, and at the same time being happy and self-consistent, it can also realize and continue to make income.
Along the way, it was very slow, but I firmly believe that if you go in the right direction, many things will naturally be right.
