According to some information, the Summer Palace, located in the western suburbs of Beijing, adjacent to the Old Summer Palace, was formerly known as Qingyi Garden, covering an area of 290 hectares. It belongs to the royal garden of the Qing Dynasty, and is now a national 5A-level scenic spot and a world historical and cultural heritage.
The Summer Palace is a large-scale landscape garden based on Kunming Lake and Wanshou Mountain, based on the West Lake of Hangzhou, and built in the construction style of Jiangnan Garden, and is also the most well-preserved Imperial Palace, known as the "Royal Garden Museum" and a national key tourist attraction.
Walk into the gate of the Summer Palace, there are two roads to go through the garden, one road is on the left, go around the mountain gently and labor-saving, lead to the center of the garden Kunming Lake, one road is welcoming Wanshou Mountain along the Buddha Xiang Pavilion and go up, over the mountains and mountains leading to Kunming Lake.
The entrance to the park should first pass through a unique design, unique and elegant arched bluestone bridge - Jinshui Bridge, under the bridge on the left and right sides, there is an antique imitation of the southern water town of Suzhou commercial street. On both sides of the street, there are various shops of varying heights, and the doors of the shops here are still closed because the epidemic has just passed.
We chose to climb the mountain. Facing the gate of the Summer Palace is Wanshou Mountain, the famous urn mountain of the Yuan Dynasty. It is the remaining vein of Yanshan, with an altitude of 10894 meters, facing Kunming Lake. Legend has it that an old man dug up a stone urn full of treasures on the mountain, giving it its name.
In the seventh year of Ming Hongzhi (1494), the nursing mother of Xiaozong helped Mrs. Luo to build Yuanjing Temple in front of the mountain, in the fifteenth year of Qianlong (1750), in order to celebrate the 60th birthday of the Queen Mother, the old site of Yuanjing Temple was built to build a large Baoen Yanshou Temple, and later renamed Wanshou Mountain. It is the place where the emperor of the Yuan Dynasty often came here for boating and fishing.
The monastery on the hill was built according to the situation, and the existing ones were rebuilt after they were burned down by the British and French forces. From the "Yunhui Yuyu" archway at the foot of the mountain, go up through the Paiyun Gate, and then are the two palace gates, the Paiyun Palace, the Dehui Palace, the Buddha Xiang Pavilion, until the wisdom sea at the top of the mountain, forming a central axis that rises layer by layer.
The temple building is magnificent, solemn and majestic, carved beams and painted buildings, flying eaves and bucket arches, red wall stone base, glazed tile capping, looking at it from a distance, it is splendid, the attic is towering, the pines and cypresses are verdant, the road is set with unique ingenuity, the secluded path is deep, the twists and turns are entangled, it is quite fun.
Since we were bringing our two-year-old grandchildren with us, it took a lot of effort for us to reach the top of the Sea of Wisdom, take a break, eat some food with us, and replenish our physical strength. Overlooking the mountain, the western district of the capital is in full view, the blue sky and blue sun, the white clouds, the high-rise buildings are lined up, the roads are vertical and horizontal, the traffic is endless, it is prosperous, and the scenery is pleasant.
Climbing to the top of Wanshou Mountain, there is indeed a feeling of seeing all the small mountains, and the Summer Palace Kunming Lake and the Seventeen Hole Bridge at the foot of the mountain are unobstructed. The blue waves ripple on the lake, the cruise ships shuttle, the green plants along the shore of the lake, the visitors are like weaving, a group of southern scenery, the scenery is beautiful, fascinating.
Descending along the mountain road, facing the Summer Palace Gallery, it is also a major landscape in the garden, the gallery starts from the Moon Gate in the east, and reaches the Shizhang Pavilion in the west, with a total length of 728 meters. The long corridor is also a colorful gallery, each beam between the corridors is painted with colorful paintings, the content of the color paintings is mostly landscapes, flowers and birds and the plot of the four classical Chinese classics, a total of more than 14,000 pieces, the design of the paintings is novel, the colors are bright, the image is realistic, lifelike, magnificent. In 1990, it was named the longest gallery in the world.
The gallery is bustling, there are tourists resting and talking, parents teaching and guiding their children to feel the charm of traditional culture, and there are couples who are leaning on each other, talking sweetly, and there is an endless stream of tourists.
Through nearly a kilometer gallery, my daughter-in-law took us on a boat tour of the lake. The right place to board the boat is the stone boat boat, where we take photos and get on the boat directly.
The little grandson, who rarely rides on the boat, danced happily and was very excited. Sitting on the pleasure boat, walking on the lake, on the boat**, and then looking at the mountains and rivers around the Summer Palace, the scenery is beautiful, and there is a unique flavor in my heart.
The sun is shining, the wind is beautiful, the weather today is very good, the sky is clear, the white clouds are blooming, there are planes flying overhead from time to time, rumbling, the lake is like a flat mirror, sparkling, occasionally there are wild ducks, herons in flocks in front of and behind the cruise ship hovering left and right.
Looking at the top of Wanshou Mountain from the lake, the tower of the Buddha Xiang Pavilion is built layer by layer, which is scattered, majestic and magnificent, and the scenery is attractive. Several small islands in Kunming Lake are clearly visible, with weeping willows, lush flowers and trees, and beautiful scenery.
There is an arched stone bridge on the southwest side of the lake, which is very eye-catching, and has the gatehouse pavilion of the antique ancient city, the eaves are arched, it is good-looking, eye-catching. After about 40 minutes of walking on the lake, the boat arrives at its destination and anchors at Nanhu Island, which is directly opposite the Foxiang Pavilion. We didn't stop too much here, and followed the roundabout path to the 17-hole bridge, which is connected to the east embankment.
The Seventeen-Hole Bridge is one of the important attractions in the Summer Palace. The bridge was built in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, according to the characteristics of Beijing Lugou Bridge, Suzhou Baodai Bridge and built, 150 meters long, fly across the east embankment and Nanhu Island, the shape is like a rainbow, very elegant, the bridge railing is equipped with 544 lions with different expressions.
There are stone carvings of exotic beasts at the east and west bridgeheads, and the image is very vivid and vivid. The north side of the bridge is written "Spirit Beast Glaive", and the south side is written "Cultivation Lingbo", which contains a profound cultural heritage. People who come here stop by to take pictures.
Crossing the 17-hole bridge, facing the Kuoru Pavilion, built on the east embankment south of the new palace gate of the Summer Palace, it is the largest garden building of its kind in China. Heavy eaves and eight ridges are gathered to gather sharp round treasure tops. There is a wooden plaque hanging on each side of the pavilion, engraved with Qianlong imperial poems, also known as "Bafang Pavilion". Moon wave building, there is a couplet "a path of bamboo shade clouds all over the ground, half curtain flower shadow moon cage sand".
After seeing the Langru Pavilion, the east gate of the Summer Palace is close at hand, so the tour of the Summer Palace should also be said to be over.
