Real Madrid is about to unlock Mbappe, and Paris is afraid of losing a superstar

Kylian Mbappe transfer rumours continue as the Paris Saint-Germain striker becomes increasingly linked with Real Madrid. Despite years of rumours, the matter never materialized, but the Spanish giants are reportedly set to make one last attempt to sign the France international next year. Mbappe's contract with PSG expires in 2024 and he is reportedly not planning to extend it immediately at this time. In 2022, he was very close to joining Real Madrid, but ultimately decided to sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

However, his relationship with the club, particularly with chairman Al Khalilfar, deteriorated during the summer. According to Sky Sports, Mbappe made it clear to PSG that he will not leave the club next summer under any circumstances. He even rejected a world record proposed by Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal**. These tensions led to his removal from the training and pre-season tour rosters, but he returned before the start of the season and was in excellent form, scoring 17 goals in 17 games.

Real Madrid are expected to make a request to Mbappe early next year and hope to get a response as soon as possible to avoid delaying transfer rumours. There were previous rumours about the talks, which Real Madrid denied in a statement. If Mbappe does not sign a new contract, he could join Real Madrid for free, a situation PSG would like to avoid. Separately, Paris Saint-Germain recently celebrated the achievements of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Randal Kolo Muani at the 2023 Ballon d'Or. Messi won his eighth award, followed by Mbappe in second place and Muani in third. However, Messi's victory was seen by some as controversial.
