On December 23, the 10th National Mass Ice and Snow Season (Sichuan Branch) and the 6th Sichuan National Fitness Ice and Snow Season were launched at the Qiangrengu Ski Resort in Wenchuan County, Sichuan, which is also the first time that the National Mass Ice and Snow Season has been held in Sichuan since its inception in 2014.
With the theme of "Happy Ice and Snow for a Better Future", this year's ice and snow season will hold mass ice and snow activities in various forms, with their own characteristics and local conditions. As the venue of this event, Wenchuan will carry out a number of events such as the "Hot Snow Burning Winter" Public Snow Track Speed Skating Competition, the "Winter Tour in Wenchuan" Public Ice and Snow Challenge, the Public Parent-Child Ice and Snow Training Camp, the Ice and Snow Tide Play Experience Market, and the Ice and Snow Knowledge Science Lecture Hall, so as to meet the participation needs of different groups of people with diversified public events and enhance the public's sense of participation and happiness in ice and snow sports.
Since 2019, Sichuan has held five consecutive sessions of the Sichuan Provincial National Fitness Ice and Snow Season Event, with a total of more than 30 million participants and more than 100 million online interactions through a series of activities in various forms and rich contents, such as competition, public, parent-child, and promotion. At present, Sichuan has built 17 ski resorts, 5 dry snow resorts and 12 ice rinks, and 5 ice and snow sports projects have been rated as national sports industry demonstration projects.
