Ahead of the start of the 2024 season, the ATP has officially announced the points adjustments for the Tour and Challenger tournaments. Rounds of Grand Slam, ATP 1000, ATP500 and ATP250 have seen an increase in points, while points have shrunk in the lower Challenger rounds.

For example, the number of points for winning a Grand Slam is still 2,000 points, the points for finishing runner-up in a Grand Slam will be increased from 1,200 points to 1,300 points, the points for winning a Masters will remain at 1,000 points, and the points for finishing runner-up at a Masters will be increased from 600 points** to 650 points. In the CH125 challenge, the number of points for winning the championship was 125 points, and the number of points for finishing second in this class was reduced from 75 to 64.

This adjustment is only for singles events, and the points for doubles events remain the same as for the 2023 season.

According to the explanation given on the ATP official website, the points adjustment is based on the optimization of the existing points system after the addition of the "Super Masters" with 96 singles picks this year. In addition, with the increase in the number of high-level challenges in the 2024 season, this point adjustment will provide a more balanced and reasonable distribution of points in the future.

In September, the ATP announced a significant increase in the total prize money for the 2024 Challenger season, with the number of Challengers rising from 183 to 195 for the year, including a more significant increase in the number of 100k and 125k high-level Challengers, providing a sustainable platform for more Challenger players.

The points for the 2024 ATP season are distributed as follows (**ATP official website).
