When it comes to high-quality apple production areas, the first reaction of many Shanghai citizens is apples from the north. But in fact, Zhaotong City in Yunnan Province is the largest production base for high-quality apples in southern China.
In Ludian County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, apples have been planted for more than 70 years, known for their bright color, delicate flesh, rich juice, rich fruit aroma, rich in selenium and other quality advantages, but the local high-quality apples because of their extensive traditional planting mode, coupled with the lack of modern grading inspection and testing technology, the degree of standardization and marketization of apples is low. In recent years, a similar situation has changed, relying on the Shanghai-Yunnan cooperation mechanism, Ludian apple industry is accelerating its development.
At the end of 2021, with the help of the east-west cooperation mechanism in Putuo District, Ludian County introduced enterprises to contract planting 2,200 acres of apple bases in Taoyuan Township, and started to adopt a modern planting model.
