After Zhu Sheng assisted Zhu Yuanzhang to ascend the throne, he immediately returned to his hometown, and later learned how clever he was!
Zhu Sheng: An unknown hero made immortal contributions to the Ming Dynasty The rise of the Ming Dynasty is known as a magnificent chapter in Chinese history. However, this is not the work of one emperor alone, but the result of the joint efforts of many heroes and heroes. In that turbulent era, there were many people whose names may not be well known to the world, who established immortal feats for the Ming Dynasty in obscurity. Among them, Zhu Sheng is a hero full of wisdom and courage, who has made great contributions to Zhu Yuanzhang's Daming country at a critical moment. Zhu Sheng, with a long word, is a native of Xiuning, Anhui.
He served as Lu Xuezheng of Chizhou in the Yuan Dynasty, but he was unwilling to accept the rule of the barbarians, and returned to his hometown after three years to live in seclusion. However, in the last years of the Yuan Dynasty, the world was in turmoil, and heroes from all walks of life swarmed, but Zhu Sheng chose to wait for the rabbit and live a leisurely life. It was not until 1357 that Zhu Yuanzhang led his army through Huizhou, and Deng Yu recommended Zhu Sheng to him. His resourcefulness was known as comparable to Zhuge Liang, which made Zhu Yuanzhang not hesitate to look at the thatched house and personally come to ask for Zhu Sheng's help. Under Zhu Yuanzhang's plea, Zhu Sheng agreed to assist him and formulated the famous nine-character proverb of "building high walls, accumulating grain, and slowly becoming king".
These recommendations were aimed at Zhu Yuanzhang's current strength and situation, including building a high wall to defend against attacks by other rebels, stockpiling grain to ensure that the army had enough food, and delaying his ascension to the throne to avoid provoking a stronger enemy too soon. This nine-character proverb became Zhu Yuanzhang's compass for the world and paved the way for him to move forward steadily. However, Zhu Sheng's contributions are not limited to resourcefulness and strategy, he also excels in talent recruitment. He realized that civil servants were needed to govern the country, and Zhu Yuanzhang lacked a background in civil officials.
As a result, Zhu Sheng helped Zhu Yuanzhang recruit many talents, including Liu Ji, Ye Chen, Zhang Yi and others, all of whom became Zhu Yuanzhang's right-hand man in governing the Ming Dynasty. However, Zhu Sheng's exploits are not only in theory and talent, he once saved Zhu Yuanzhang's life at a critical moment. In the Battle of Poyang Lake in 1363, Zhu Yuanzhang fell into a disadvantage, and Zhu Sheng proposed to block the enemy's retreat, obtain food and grass, and finally help Zhu Yuanzhang achieve victory. During the battle, Zhu Sheng keenly discovered the threat of an arrow, reminded Zhu Yuanzhang in time, saved his life, and contributed great strength to the establishment of the Ming Dynasty.
However, when the Ming Dynasty was stable, Zhu Sheng chose to return to his hometown. He refused the title and official position given by Zhu Yuanzhang, because he knew the sinister nature of officialdom and Zhu Yuanzhang's suspicious character. He understands that by letting go of power, true peace and happiness can be attained. Zhu Sheng died of illness soon after returning to his hometown, and his life was as unknown as his name, but his wisdom and loyalty made immortal contributions to the rise of the Ming Dynasty. Zhu Sheng's story tells us that greatness in history did not arise out of thin air, but was the crystallization of the efforts and wisdom of many heroes.
His loyalty and resourcefulness have made great contributions to Zhu Yuanzhang's Daming Dynasty, and his life is a model of striving for the interests of the country and the nation. Looking back on history, we can see that in addition to Zhu Sheng, there are many unknown heroes who have made great efforts for the prosperity of the country and the nation. However, in today's society, do we still have such heroes? In the face of real-world dilemmas and challenges, how should we discover and cultivate these heroes?Perhaps, we can draw wisdom and courage from Zhu Sheng.
His story teaches us that everyone has the potential to be a hero, and that if we have the courage to pursue our dreams, take risks and give in, we can achieve great things. At the same time, we should also value the power of wisdom and loyalty, keep calm thinking in difficult times, find solutions to problems, and contribute to the prosperity of the country and the nation.
