Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) managed to reach the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League after a 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund. The result ensured PSG qualified as runners-up in Group F, avoiding a first-time group stage exit since Qatar owners took over in 2011. Borussia Dortmund topped the group, with AC Milan third and Newcastle United bottom. Karim Adeyemi netted a goal for Borussia Dortmund early in the second half, but Paris' Warren Zel-Emery equalised to make France progress to the knockout stages for the 12th time in a row.

Despite the promotion, PSG have lackluster performances and will need to improve in the game if they are to hope to go further. Borussia Dortmund's progress as group winners means they avoided the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the round of 16. Both sides had plenty of chances to score in the first half but couldn't find the back of the net. Paris' Kylian Mbappe came close to opening the scoring but was denied by a brilliant goal-line interception by Borussia Dortmund defender Niklas Soule.

Borussia Dortmund also missed a few chances, with Marco Reuss and Adeyemi both failing to hit the target. In the end, Adeyemi broke the deadlock with a brilliant goal that put Paris at risk of elimination. However, Mbappe played an important role in setting up Zel Emery's equaliser. Mbappe was later denied a goal by VAR for offside. Now, PSG will need to regroup and improve their performance if they are to have any hope of advancing further in the competition.
