Super Eagles striker Samuel Chokouezzi scored a goal for his club AC Milan against Newcastle United in the Champions League. Jokouezzi's goal secured Milan a place in the Europa League, while also denying Newcastle's chances of promotion. The Premier League side scored first through Joellington, but Christian Pulisic equalised the scores in the second half.

Jokouezzi also scored against Borussia Dortmund recently, coming off the bench in the 83rd minute and scoring with his first touch. This continues his excellent run in the Champions League, where he has already scored twice. However, the Nigeria international is yet to score in Serie A this season.

Meanwhile, AC Milan's former sporting director Paolo Maldini has criticised the club for signing Joe Cuezi and former Chelsea players Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic. Maldini believes the Rossoneri wasted money when they signed the Nigerian striker from Villarreal for €30 million. Despite criticism from Maldini, Giocuezzi's performances proved to be an important influence for Milan, helping them qualify for next season's Europa League. Milan and Newcastle United have both been knocked out of the Champions League. Overall, Jokouezzi's performances on the European stage are commendable, but he will try to replicate his goalscoring performance in Serie A as Milan continue to compete on multiple occasions.
