The Kokang Alliance is currently facing a heavy choice, which involves the trajectory of future fate.
For them, there are three paths: submission to the Burmese army is a dead end, a high degree of autonomy is a dead end, or independence is the only way.
Submission to the Burmese army was almost the end of the Kokang Alliance's destruction.
In Burma, where Greater Burmese nationalism is dominant, small ethnic groups are severely oppressed, and the Kokang are seen as inferior, the choice of a high degree of autonomy is a seemingly beautiful vision but a fantasy in practice.
Myanmar pays lip service to autonomy, but behind the scenes, conniving at the deceitful behavior of the four major families, the peace talks are only a delaying tactic, which will eventually lead to the collapse of the allies.
The only option for independent statehood is evident from the example of East Timor, where the Kokang allies have no choice but independence unless Burma undergoes fundamental reforms.
But if the courage chooses independence, will China support it?Like East Timor, will China support a bold independence?
What do you think about this?
