In order to cover the transfer of the main force and the masses, the five soldiers of the 7th Company and 2nd Platoon of the 1st Regiment of the Jin-Cha-Ji 1st Division, namely squad leader Ma Baoyu, deputy squad leader Ge Zhenlin, and soldiers Hu Delin, Hu Fucai, and Song Xueyi, fought fiercely with the enemy and repelled the enemy's five charges. When the grenades and bullets were all gone, the 5 brave men who would rather die jumped off the bottomless cliff behind them. Ge Zhenlin and Song Xueyi were hung by a branch on the mountainside and survived, and the other three soldiers died heroically.
Many years later, the representative of this lesson re-read this text, and when he read the following paragraph, he still had tears in his eyes, his blood boiled, and he couldn't help but recite it with tears:
In order to hold back the enemy, the five soldiers of the sixth squad of the seventh company beat the enemy who was chasing after them, and at the same time led a large number of enemies to Langya Mountain in a planned way. They took advantage of the treacherous terrain to defeat the rushing enemy again and again [starting from the whole]. The squad leader Ma Baoyu calmly commanded the battle, and let the enemy get closer, before ordering to fight fiercely. Ge Zhenlin, the deputy squad leader, roared as soon as he shot him, as if the small muzzle of the gun could not spew out his full anger. Soldier Song Xueyi always threw a grenade and always had to pull his arm around so that he could exert all his strength. Hu Delin and Hu Fucai, the two little soldiers, tightened their faces and focused on aiming at the enemy to shoot [starting from the individual, combining points and faces, and showing the war scenes with close-up shots]. The battle went on for a long time, and the enemy could not move forward. On the rugged mountain road, there are many enemy corpses lying on the ground [finally written together, with clear layers]. On March 21, 2005, Ge Zhenlin, the last survivor of the Five Heroes of Langya Mountain, passed away in Hengyang, Hunan Province, at the age of 88.
With the death of Ge Zhenlin, the five heroes of Langya Mountain have all left us, entered history, and become a name in the old textbook, but because of the influence of the old text "Five Heroes of Langya Mountain", their legendary experience of blood and fire and the battle memory of majestic mountains and rivers will forever nourish the heroic spirit of the nation.
No one would have imagined that this old text would have three more storms many years later.
On July 9, 1994, a newspaper published "Five people are heavier than Mount Tai, and one person is lighter than Hongmao - there were six people in Langya Mountain that year". The article wrote that at that time, the 6th squad of the "Five Heroes" was not 5 people, but 6 people, among which Wu Xishun, the deputy squad leader who was a small trader, surrendered under the enemy's false persuasion, and was "killed on the spot by the angry Japanese army with bayonets."
This statement is based on a drama called "The Five Warriors". The play draws on the Soviet drama to use the performance technique of traitors to highlight heroes, and when the story of "Five Heroes of Langya Mountain" is put on the stage, a traitor named Wu Xishun is processed. The article treats the literally processed drama as real history, but unexpectedly it is falsely circulated. Ge Zhenlin, one of the "Five Heroes," and Qian Danhui, the propaganda officer of the Political Department of the 1st Military Subdivision of the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Military Region, who was the first to interview the surviving heroes that year, immediately stood up and proved that there was no such person in the 6th squad, 2nd platoon, and 7th company. Soon, the newspaper concerned engaged in self-criticism.
Only one year later, another negative news about the "Five Heroes of Langya Mountain" appeared in the newspapers. The article, titled "Singing the Giant Song of Langya Mountain", argues that the reason why the two survivors survived was because they did not "jump off the cliff", but slipped down the cliff. This statement was also refuted by witnesses Ge Zhenlin and the People's Liberation Army Daily.
On September 19, 2013, a magazine published on the Internet "There are many untruths in the primary school textbook "Five Heroes of Langya Mountain", mainly from where to jump off the cliff, how to jump off the cliff, the battle between the enemy and us, whether to pull out the radish of the masses and other four details to question. These so-called "doubts" all grasp some minutiae, have nothing to do, cannot change the fact that the strong men would rather die than surrender, and use the so-called details to question the heroic spirit, which must be reprimanded.
