On December 12, 2023, the wind power operation and maintenance vessel "IWS Sky Walker" built by China Merchants Industry Haimen Base was delivered.
The "IWS Sky Walker" has a total length of 90 meters and a width of 196 meters, the design speed of 13 knots, can provide 120 people with transshipment and more than 30 days of offshore life and operation support, the use of diesel-electric electric propulsion and DC busbar power distribution system, excellent berthing and maneuvering performance, can realize the efficient storage and transportation of wind farm equipment and spare parts. The project is equipped with a first-class deck, a working boat (sub-boat) and a stern CTV connection platform, which has high efficiency in personnel transportation and deployment. At the same time, it is also equipped with DP2 dynamic positioning system, 3D wave compensation transmission gangway and 3D wave compensation main crane, which can realize personnel transfer and wind farm maintenance operations under harsh sea conditions, and the safety performance and work efficiency are much higher than those of similar ships.
