Borussia Dortmund continue to struggle with a 1-1 draw with Augsburg in the Bundesliga. The result extended Borussia Dortmund's winless run to three league games and put them further behind in the title race. They are currently fifth in the table, 10 points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
Despite dominating possession, Dortmund broke the deadlock on 23 minutes after a defensive error by Ermedin Demirovic. However, Dortmund responded quickly and equalised 12 minutes later by Donel Malen. Borussia Dortmund had a number of chances to get the final touch, with Niklas Fulkruger's brilliant volley being saved by Augsburg goalkeeper Finn Damann and hitting the post.
In La Liga, Athletic Bilbao beat Atletico Madrid 2-0. After missing a penalty in the first half, Bilbao finally found the breakthrough in the 51st minute when Gorka Guruzeta netted home from close range. Nico Williams sealed the win with a brilliant long-range strike 13 minutes later. The win lifted Bilbao to fifth place in the standings, just two points behind the Champions League qualification zone. In other La Liga fixtures, Rafa Benitez's Certavigo pulled out of the relegation zone with a crucial 1-0 victory over Granada.
