CCTV *** News Network): This winter, the ice and snow economy continues to heat up in the north and south of the river. Relying on the new form of cultural tourism consumption created by ice and snow sports, the "cold" ice and snow have become "hot" effects, and continue to inject new vitality into the consumer economy.

Not long ago, the FIS Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard Halfpipe World Cup was staged in the Winter Olympic town of Chongli, where more than 100 of the world's top skiers, including three Olympic champions, gathered at Genting Snow Park, the venue of the Beijing Winter Olympics. The wonderful competition attracted skiers from all over the country, driving a surge in tourism consumption such as local hotels and restaurants. According to statistics, on the weekend of the event alone, Chongli received 15 tourists520,000 person-times, achieving a comprehensive tourism income of 1500 million yuan.

According to data from online platforms, since November, the number of ski resort ticket bookings nationwide has increased by 147% compared to the same period in 2019. In December, ski resorts and ice rinks in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Xinjiang and other places in northern China have also entered a state of full operation, driving hotels, homestays, and catering industries around the country to continue to be popular.

With the widespread development of ice and snow sports, the consumption of ice and snow sports equipment is becoming increasingly popular. According to an e-commerce platform, the highest growth rate of ski wear and other categories of goods this year has reached 300%. Relevant research estimates that the size of China's ski sportswear market is about 3.7 billion yuan this year, and by 2024, it is expected to reach 6.7 billion yuan.

According to the analysis of the "Research Report on the Development of China's Ice and Snow Industry (2023)", as consumers gradually regard ice and snow tourism, ice and snow sports and related consumption as the main content of vacations, rather than "trying first" in a short time, China's ice and snow tourism has gradually moved out of the single model of "ticket economy", and the continuous in-depth development of ice and snow sports has driven the symbiotic development of sports equipment, catering and accommodation, transportation and other business formats. It is estimated that the scale of China's ice and snow industry will reach 890 billion yuan in 2023 and 1 trillion yuan in 2025, accounting for 1 5 percent of the total output value of China's sports industry.
