As for the first point, there is no doubt that the equipment of the US military is indeed the most sophisticated in the world at present. However, the extent of the actual combat experience is not up for debate. Some people may question this: "A country that has been founded for 244 years has been at war for 228 years, and today's US military is still attacking everywhere, do you dare to say that it does not have rich experience in actual combat?".As a matter of fact, we might as well take a look at a corps-level operation commanded by the US military in recent years to understand the richness of actual combat experience. In March 2014, the Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts in eastern Ukraine declared independence as pro-Russian sovereign states. Immediately, Ukraine mobilized its troops and prepared to launch an offensive in the eastern region of Ukraine to regain the two oblasts.
The U.S. military has also sent a number of military advisers to directly direct the Ukrainian army in operations. After a skirmish in the early stages, the American advisers were ready to make a big move to eliminate the militia in eastern Ukraine in one fell swoop. Ukraine has a total of three army groups, and this time, American advisers divided the two army groups into four lines. All the way to Luhansk, all the way to Donetsk, all the way to Slavyansk, and all the way as a mobile force, ready to support at any time. This method of arranging troops stems from the experience of the United States in clearing out guerrillas in Afghanistan and Iraq: attacking from all sides makes the enemy unable to take care of each other. If a commander in China sees this kind of arrangement, most of them will shake their heads. Because in the absence of absolute superiority in troops, the scattered forces will be broken by the opponents.
Just like the Battle of Salhu at the end of the Ming Dynasty, the strength of the Ming army was twice that of the Houjin, but the final defeat was due to the fact that the troops were divided into four ways and were broken by the Houjin. However, American advisers were unimpressed. Because according to their "actual combat experience", this way of arranging troops is correct. However, this so-called "actual combat experience" brought a catastrophe to the Ukrainian army. As a result, the militia of Eastern Ukraine, which did not have an advantage in total strength, formed a local advantage in strength and firepower, and in the end, the four-way Ukrainian army was really broken by each one.
It is worth mentioning that the militia of East Ukraine has real strength, not only guns and artillery fire, but also tanks. In addition, it is said that the American adviser with "actual combat experience" also told the Ukrainian army that before crossing the bridge, it must stop to check whether there are roadside bombs and *** results, and the Ukrainian troops who stopped were covered by the opponent's artillery fire, which was very heavy. According to American advisers, the Ukrainian army should be decisive and crisp when maneuvering along the road, and not drag mud and water. However, the Ukrainian army said that they did not have air supremacy, so they could not enjoy the help of air support. The previous recommendations of the American advisers were based on their own accumulated experience in the fight against a number of weak opponents. However, when they face a strong opponent, these experiences become less applicable.
The Ukrainian army suffered heavy losses in the fighting, including 10 mechanized infantry brigades, 5 airborne brigades, 3 artillery brigades, 2 tank brigades, and a rocket artillery brigade were completely annihilated, which was probably the worst formed annihilation since World War II. The main forces of the Ukrainian army have been almost wiped out, their morale has collapsed, and they can only agree to the autonomy of Eastern Ukraine. On the contrary, the U.S. military has long been engaged in law and order warfare and guerrilla eradication with its adversaries, which has allowed them to accumulate some practical combat experience. However, when they face high-level opponents, the usefulness of these experiences is greatly reduced. As a terrorist organization that has been raging for 25 years, the LTTE was finally completely eradicated, a situation that we Chinese are very familiar with.
Some people may say that although China has not experienced a large-scale war since the nineties, our equipment level and operational thinking are in line with the world's advanced level. For example, we have the Zhu Rihe base, which allows for large-scale coordinated operations. In addition, for small-scale law and order warfare and guerrilla suppression, our level has surpassed that of the US military.
