What are the early warning signs of a stroke (stroke)? What are the particularities of diet for patients with cerebrovascular disease? Why is it easy for the "temple" to be hit and out of danger? What are the distinguishing features of cerebellar loss? What are the most important risk factors for stroke? What are the main manifestations of Parkinson's disease?Alzheimer's disease is a neurological disorder of what nature ?......These problems are related to the health of the human brain.
As an important organ that participates in the "top-level design" of the human body, the brain participates in various activities of the human body. If there is a lesion in the brain, it can seriously affect the quality of life and even endanger life. Stroke, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, cerebellar atrophy, brain tumors, etc. are the most dangerous "killers" of brain health.
Especially now that it is a cold winter, it is also the season of high incidence of cerebrovascular diseases. During this period, under the stimulation of lower external temperatures, the blood vessels in the human brain tend to constrict, and the blood flow becomes more difficult, and the blood circulation in the cerebral blood vessels is insufficient, resulting in ischemia in the brain, which in turn leads to the onset of cerebrovascular diseases. In fact, cerebrovascular disease is not "exclusive" for the elderly, and everyone needs to pay attention to it as soon as possible. Data show that among the millions of new stroke patients in China every year, young and middle-aged people aged 45 and below account for about 5%-15%, and the proportion of young and middle-aged stroke people is increasing year by year.
In addition, the brain is the most advanced part of the human nervous system, which can control the body's movement, feeling, emotion, language, execution and other functions, and plays a very important role in human health. With the acceleration of China's economic and social transformation and population aging, the prevalence level continues to increase from mental disorders such as psychological and emotional disorders and depression in children and adolescents to neuropsychiatric diseases such as cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease, and the burden of diseases is increasingly heavy, seriously affecting social and economic development and family happiness and harmony. There is currently no effective method for some major neuropsychiatric diseases, and proactive prevention and intervention are very important.
In order to improve people's understanding of brain health, care about brain health issues, disseminate the correct concept of brain health, and improve the public's health science literacy, the 2023 Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Citizen Science Quality Competition will launch a special quiz activity of "'First' Priority Matters and Focus on Brain Health".
Through answering questions, the public will learn a lot of scientific knowledge about brain health, including the activity mechanism of the human brain, the prevention and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases, the manifestations and responses of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, cerebellar loss and other diseases, and the correction of misconceptions about brain health.

Participate in the special answer question of "'Top' Priority Focus on Brain Health".
The "top priority, focus on brain health" special answering activity focuses on improving the public's awareness of brain health, mastering the correct knowledge and skills of maintaining brain health, and has been strongly supported by the Beijing Municipal Health Commission, Beijing Alzheimer's Disease Prevention and Control Association, China Telecom Group Science and Technology Association, China Telecom Museum, China Mobile Communications Group Science and Technology Association, China United Network Communications Group Science and Technology Association, Beijing Gehua Cable TV Network Co., Ltd. and other units.
Background. What is Brain Health?Due to the different focus of its research, as well as the influence of regional and demographic characteristics, experts and scholars have certain differences in its definition. Currently, the World Health Organization (WHO) defines "brain health" as: "the functional state of the brain in the cognitive, sensory, social-emotional, behavioral, and motor domains that allows a person to realize their full potential throughout their life, regardless of the presence or absence of disease." In fact, the human brain can be divided into three basic units: forebrain, midbrain, and hindbrain, and the cerebrum is only the largest and most developed forebrain component of the human brain.
Brain health affects all aspects of the human body, so it is important to pay attention to brain health. Therefore, since 2000, China has set September as "Brain Health Month" every year, and set September 16 as "China Brain Health Day", calling on everyone to learn brain health knowledge, care for brain health, and pay more attention to their "first" and other major events. At the same time, internationally, July 22 is also designated as "World Brain Health Day" every year, aiming to arouse people's attention to brain health.
The 2023 Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Citizen Science Quality Competition will set up different modes such as daily answers, time-limited challenge answers, PK answers, and special answers in the online form, allowing you to use the "small screen" to improve scientific literacy in fragmented time. You can also take a self-test through the "Test Your Digital Science Literacy" section to understand your basic situation in scientific spirit and thought, scientific method, scientific knowledge, and problem-solving ability.
At the same time, the competition will also cooperate with relevant units to carry out special answering activities on different themes from different perspectives such as interpretation of national strategies, cutting-edge science and technology, social hotspots, scientific (family) spirit, emergency science popularization, and scientific rumors.
