In the past few days, under the influence of strong cold air, there has been an extreme cold blizzard in Yantai, Shandong, with a maximum snow depth of 52 cm and a temperature as low as minus 12 degrees Celsius. Yantai public security police made every effort to face the blizzard, divert traffic, rescue the trapped people, and compose a heart-warming symphony in the ice and snow.
At 23 o'clock on December 20, a car was trapped in the direction of Penglai on Pengqi Expressway. Yantai Expressway Traffic Police Detachment Penglai Brigade Police Officer Gao Tao and Auxiliary Police Officer Dai Chenhao patrolled here and found a car parked in the emergency lane. It turned out that the road surface was seriously icy, and the car was frozen into lumps due to too much snow under the car, and the chassis was stuck and could not drive. Gao Tao and Dai Chenhao got under the car and used small shovels to clear the ice and snow little by little. After 20 minutes, the sedan was finally back on the road. At this time, Gao Tao and Dai Chenhao were covered with ice and snow, and their hands and feet were so cold that they lost consciousness.
Before dawn on December 20, police cars were buried tightly by heavy snow. Liu Chengbang, squadron leader of the No. 2 Squadron of the Traffic Police Brigade of the Yantai Port and Shipping Public Security Bureau, and his colleagues took out snow shoveling tools and "dug out" police cars from the snow to patrol the road.
Soon after Liu Chengbang and his colleagues took up their posts, they saw a large truck trapped on an overpass. Liu Chengbang stepped forward to inquire and learned that due to the slippery road surface and the steep bridge deck, large trucks could not move forward, causing traffic congestion. Liu Chengbang immediately contacted the municipal maintenance department to carry out emergency snow melting on the spot, and worked with his colleagues to clear the snow around the truck. Eventually, the trucks crossed the bridge and traffic was restored.
As soon as the congestion on the bridge was resolved, Liu Chengbang patted the layer of ice ballast on his gloves and immediately rushed to the next patrol point. "My car can't move. A citizen asked the police for help. Liu Chengbang and his colleagues hurriedly stepped forward to help with the cart. On that day, they pushed more than 30 vehicles in a row under the heavy snow.
