"When you put on the 'cloak of the brave', you will be blessed with courage and will no longer be afraid. "Children, believe in the light and defeat the virus!Recently, in the imaging department of Yangchunhu Campus of Wuhan Central Hospital, medical staff are putting on a customized "brave cloak" for a 4-year-old child who needs to have a plain lung X-ray to relieve the fear and nervousness of others and encourage him to cooperate with the completion of the examination.
Since the beginning of winter, children's respiratory tract infections have entered the high incidence season, and many children in the Yangchunhu Campus of Wuhan Central Hospital have come to the imaging department every day for lung X-ray and CT radiological examinations because of cough and fever. For many young children who have had an examination for the first time, they have poor cooperation, are very afraid of the unfamiliar environment and unknown operation of the examination room, and are nervous when they see the medical staff in white coats, and they often cry incessantly, and it is difficult for their parents to cooperate successfully to complete the examination even if their parents are present.
In order to allow such small patients to better cooperate with the completion of the examination, the medical staff of the Imaging Department of Yangchunhu Campus specially customized a children's special "brave cape" printed with animated patterns such as Superman and Princess Elsa in the DR and CT examination machine rooms. After the little patients enter the examination room, the operator technician will put on the appropriate protective equipment for them, and if they encounter nervous and scared children, the nursing staff will use the prepared small toys to encourage the children, distract them, and put on the "brave man's cape" that represents courage to help the children calm down and complete the examination smoothly in the form of games.
With the "courage blessing" of the "brave cloak", the little patients successfully completed the examination, and after the examination, they happily told their parents that they had become braver. For this heart-warming measure, which has improved the medical experience of the children, parents have praised the medical staff for their patience and guidance when the children are sick.
