As for young people, they have even been put in the "spotlight" again and again to be scrutinized and discussed by the public. If we have high hopes for young people, we should give them space to express themselves and listen to what they have to say.
In 2023, more than 100 students from more than 40 universities including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University, Zhejiang University, and Fudan University will gather at "Youth Talk". It is also on the stage of this college student's experience of serious news commentary writing that we can get to know young people again and again and discover the shining points of their thoughts.
The competition in review writing is not only inspiration and writing, but also the accumulation of knowledge at a deeper level. Through more than 100 reviews, we are pleased to find that students from different majors bring different professional perspectives to think deeply. They strive to resist the inertia of thinking, refuse to follow the crowd, and express themselves in public with inspiring short reviews. For example, for the universal question of "how to spend college time", students from the School of Economics and Management of Wuhan University skillfully used the concepts of path dependence, opportunity cost, and macro environment in economics to analyze the problem. His view of "making good use of economic thinking to plan university life" is quite innovative. When "finding AI when there is a problem" has become a new habit of contemporary college students, students from the School of Educational Information Technology of South China Normal University keenly grasped the essential problem of digital literacy education and reminded college students from the perspective of education that the use of AI should be based on literacy. These sparks of thinking are particularly precious, showing that young college students consciously integrate theoretical knowledge into analysis and argumentation, rather than piling up articles with beautiful rhetoric.
Young people are sensitive and thoughtful, and while showing off their individuality, they are also prone to fall into the trap of emotional quagmire or stress. Critical writing gives them the power to look beyond emotions and look at the world rationally. In 2023, the voices of college students such as "crispy college students", "it's okay to be a waste", and "Kong Yiji's long shirt that can't be taken off" will come and go, and phenomena related to youth groups such as "inspection exams", actively choosing to postpone graduation, "spiritual elderly", and looking for "misplaced opportunities" have been discussed. How should we view the behavioural choices of young people today?On the platform of "Youth Talk", young people themselves give their answers. Behind "Facing the Needs of Young People, Please Look at Young People First", it is not only young people who refuse to preach without nutrition "daddy", but also look forward to building a rational society where different groups respect each other. Works such as "Can't Let "Special Forces Tourism" Fall into Blindly Following the Trend" and "The Cost of Deferred Graduation Should Be Measured Again" reflect the caution and calmness of college students in the face of some group phenomena. All these demonstrate the resilience and resilience of young people's lives.
In the process of commenting and writing, young people are also constructing and examining their self-values. Jumping out of the small emotions of self-talk, they actively embrace this pluralistic world, eager to take root in the vast land of thought. In the process of communicating and writing with tutors and editors, they actively pay attention to the society, provide their own constructive opinions, and convey the positive energy of young people like "woodpeckers and worms". At the end of the year, the editorial department invited more than 20 experts from journalism schools to select 10 excellent works of "Youth Talk" through voting, which were finally reviewed by the editorial department and finally met with readers.
