On December 24, the 15,000 cubic meter dual-fuel powered rake suction dredger "New Sea Sturgeon" invested by CCCC Shanghai Aviation Bureau, contracted by the Dredging Technology Research Center and built by Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. was officially launched. This is the world's largest and the first domestic large-scale rake suction dredger with dual-fuel power system so far, which fills the gap in the R&D and design of LNG-powered clean energy rake suction dredger in China.

The new sea sturgeon "has a total length of 1557 meters, 32 meters wide and 13 meters deep5 meters, full load draft 99 meters, the maximum capacity of the designed mud tank is 17,000 cubic meters, equipped with the most advanced and intelligent "one-key dredging" and "dredging and driving integration" systems, and the "unmanned dredging" function under typical working conditions is realized for the first time in China. At the same time, for the first time, the ship is equipped with a comprehensive intelligent management platform on the rake suction dredger, integrating intelligent engine room, intelligent navigation, intelligent energy efficiency management and other systems, and effectively improving the management level of the whole ship, improving construction efficiency and ensuring the safety of navigation operations through the integrated design, installation and control of the whole ship.

The ship is the first domestic independent research and development of LNG dual-fuel power system of 10,000-ton green energy large-scale rake suction dredger, through the development of ship type, power system and dual-fuel engine selection, related equipment system configuration and other aspects of the design and research, gas mode to meet the IMO IMOTIER emission requirements, fuel mode to meet the IMO TIER requirements. At the same time, it can meet the relevant control requirements put forward by the latest version of the "Green Ecological Ship Code" of China Classification Society CCS in terms of NOx emissions, SOX emissions, oil pollutant emissions, garbage emissions, ozone substance emissions, incineration emissions, and harmful anti-fouling systems. The vessel has the same dynamic performance as the diesel engine, which can reduce nitrogen oxides and carbon dioxide emissions by 90%, and can eliminate sulfur oxide and particulate matter emissions, which is more economical than the operation of traditional fuel-powered dredgers.

Compared with similar foreign dredger types, the LNG tank capacity is larger, the self-sustaining endurance is higher, the gas supply pipeline is less, the cost is lower, the economy is better, the dangerous area is less, and it is far away from the operation area and living area, and the operation safety is higher.
