From the city to the village.
The launch of the village song project was not a brain fever.
In 2017, many of them and their bandmates drove two cars on a tour of rural areas across the country, and the farthest time they sang all the way from Beijing to Guangxi. "It's time for society to develop and need the city to feed back to the countryside, and we see more and more people choosing to return to or go to the countryside. That's why the barn band chose to leave the city, they were like children, they were crazy to absorb everything about the countryside, and they could walk through more than 20 villages in a month.

Many people get their creative passion from this "country tour". "I saw the vibrancy of the village, the desire to be seen by the outside world, and the strong spiritual needs of the villagers," he said. "Just like the workers in the city during the wave of migrant work, the villagers also want to express themselves and yearn for an outlet of the spirit.
We basically sing the band's original tracks, and then some folk songs, ballads. Many played the guitar and hummed softly on the simple stage built by the village, and the villagers in the audience shook their bodies with **, many said, "The villagers also have a feeling for **, even the older generation who are illiterate, they can also respond because of the size of the voice, which is the appeal of **." ”
So, the barn band decided to sing for the village. In 2018, the village song project was officially launched, and many of the promoters and other members of the band went to the village to investigate, and they turned their attention to the village. In the past five years, the Barn Band has researched nearly 100 villages, and so far, it has composed and composed village songs for more than 50 villages.
In 2022, the Barn Band officially changed its name, and many say that it means to produce organic food for the countryside for thought. But expressing this matter with ** is the same. In the past, they sang for the workers, sang about the boredom of the factory assembly line, and sang about the lack of spirit behind the rapid development of materials, but now, they turned their eyes to the countryside, sang about the beauty of the village, and sang about the desire of the village.

In the process of creation, we are involved as collaborators, and the core and soul of the song come from the villagers and the village itself, and the villagers are the main body of the creation of the village song. This is a collective creation. The steps of the barn band are as follows: resident observation, brainstorming, recording. In terms of communication with the villagers, the barn band spent a lot of time and used a lot of methods.
At first, some of the villagers were reluctant to talk to us, let alone what to say. "Many ways are to surrender his absolute sincerity, he goes to the villagers' homes as guests, goes to the fields with the villagers, drinks in the middle of the night, and there is always a moment when the story will turn into the wind and moisten the hearts of the visitors.
Many people like to communicate with the villagers, or the acoustic guitar, sweep the strings, the notes will pop out one by one, and the song will stay with the local sound. In the village song composed by the barn band, there are scenery and experiences. In the old Miaowan village of Ordos, they sang "The Great Beauty of the Old Miaowan", in the village of Qiantou in Fujian, they sang "It is good to go up the mountain to pick flowers", and in the village of Waipula in Yunnan, they sang "Fire Bonoma Left Foot Dance, Singing".
Song is a language in its advanced form. The Barn Band wrote in "The Song of Ma Hai": "The mountain road bends and the birds chirp, and the song is heard when you go up the stream." This is the first village song composed by the barn band for Mahai Village, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, a village with an elderly population, a poetry association that houses the souls and life wisdom of the elderly. Many say that in some villages, the phenomenon of male superiority and female inferiority still exists. "The relationship between the barn band and the village does not end with the creation of the village song.
