The Book of Changes, also known as the Book of Changes, is a treasure of Chinese culture, with profound content, covering philosophy, cosmology, philosophy of life and other aspects, with its unique hexagrams and sayings to remind people to adapt to changes and gain insight into heaven. However, learning the I Ching quickly, especially applying the wisdom of the I Ching to real life and work, is a challenge and a fruitful journey of mental improvement.
My learning experience began by chance, when I was introduced to the wisdom of the I Ching by an experienced tutor in order to solve a difficult problem in my work. When I first came into contact with it, I couldn't immediately grasp the meaning, but it also piqued my passion for the relentless exploration of the I Ching.
First, I adopted a phased learning strategy. The breadth and profundity of the Book of Changes cannot be mastered overnight, so I divide the learning content into the following levels: basic concepts, interpretation of hexagrams, principles of translating and changing hexagrams, biography, elephant transmission, literary transmission, miscellaneous hexagram transmission, etc. Each stage has clear goals and timelines in my study plan.
Secondly, combining practice and reflection is the method I have always adhered to in this learning process. For example, when studying the basic theories of the I Ching, I try to apply the theories to various matters and decisions that I encounter in my life. After each decision, I review and compare the original text of the I Ching to reflect on whether my choices match the ideas of the I Ching.
In the process of studying the I Ching, I realized that simplification and summarization are the keys to improving learning efficiency. To this end, I summarized some key ideas and symbolic meanings, and made charts and notes that are easy to understand and remember, which is also a major innovation in my learning. For example, putting the charts and key words of the 64 hexagrams together can help me quickly recall and identify the meanings of different hexagrams.
In the process of in-depth study of Wenyan Chuan, I found many cases in modern life, which coincided with the principles advocated in the Book of Changes. I once assisted an enterprise in the reform of its management structure, and in this process, I used the principles of modesty, steadfastness, and steady progress in the "I Ching" to guide the actual operation, and the result of the reform was to achieve the expected results.
Another important skill in learning the I Ching is to communicate and share. I regularly attend study groups and seminars to share my learning experiences with others, as well as to listen to their different perspectives on the I Ching. This exchange of experiences not only broadened my horizons, but also strengthened my understanding and memory of the knowledge of the I Ching.
Of course, there will inevitably be some difficulties and challenges in learning the I Ching, especially when it comes to understanding some esoteric texts and symbolic meanings. In these moments, I encourage myself to be patient and persistent, to keep reading and trying to interpret the text from different angles. After reading it many times, the passages that were once obscure gradually became clearer.
Looking back on my study journey, I deeply realized that the Book of Changes is not only an ancient classic that reveals the truth of the universe, but also a practical book that guides people to perceive changes and control their lives. Although the path of learning the I Ching is full of challenges, as Confucius said, "It is not easy to learn!"."Only by continuous study and practice can we sail in the ocean of the Book of Changes, absorb wisdom, and improve our mind.
