In fact, Huizhou has wanted to hold a marathon for many years!Although Huizhou has held some marathons before, there is a lack of city-level events. As early as 2021, the first work report of Huizhou City has written the matter of running a marathon into the first work report. In the same year, the company started preparations for the "Huizhou Marathon", and went to surrounding cities to conduct research and learn the experience of holding the marathon, and invited relevant experts to conduct a preliminary survey of the conditions and new routes of Huizhou City, and formed a preparatory work plan for the Huizhou Marathon, which was later suspended due to the impact of the new crown epidemic. In 2022, the "Huizhou National Fitness Implementation Plan (2021-2025)" issued by the city will also include the marathon in the brand event plan. He also mentioned that at present, preparations are being made to hold the Huizhou Marathon, and relevant departments will actively promote the organization of the event. In September 2023, Huizhou issued the "Announcement on the Public Bidding for the 2024 Huizhou Marathon Operation Service Project", which will be conducted at a cost of 0 yuan. 
Unfortunately, the tender failed because there were less than 3 operators who signed up to participate. 
After that, the tender was carried out once, and the result was also a failure, of course, for the same reason.
