Behind every illness there is a story that touches your heart, and as a healthcare worker, are you willing to take the time to understand and listen?”

Doctors and patients work hand in hand, and the trust and understanding of patients are the motivation and courage of doctors to overcome the difficulties of diagnosis and treatment. ”

What else can doctors do in the face of medical limitations?”

A few days ago, the Beijing Hospital Management Center held an excellent "parallel medical record" report and performance activity, with the theme of "Let the humanities illuminate medicine". Medical staff from eight hospitals, including Beijing Chaoyang Hospital, Beijing Shijitan Hospital, Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, Beijing Cancer Hospital, Beijing Children's Hospital, Beijing You'an Hospital, Beijing Huilongguan Hospital, and Beijing Geriatric Hospital, told the stories of doctors and patients in daily diagnosis and treatment activities through stage plays, melodramas, poetry recitals and other art forms.

These stories take place in different departments such as ophthalmology, laboratory department, palliative care unit, oncology, pediatrics, infectious diseases, psychiatry, etc., with the best communication between doctors and patients, the help to alleviate the pain of patients, and the comfort of making patients' hearts be cared for, showing the humanistic feelings of medical staff in the new era.

This parallel medical record competition is a vivid practice of the clinical application of the humanistic spirit, all stories are from the clinical frontline, and all the cast and crew are medical staff. The medical staff wrote their own stories and acted out their own stories, and their emotions were sincere. Xu Changshun, the second-level inspector of the Beijing Hospital Management Center, said, "I hope that through this activity, we can help more medical staff improve their medical humanistic literacy, practice the spirit of medical humanism, improve the quality of medical services, and better serve patients." ”

The humanistic spirit of medicine is to adhere to the heart of benevolence, bend down to listen to the voice of patients, feel the temperature of the soul, and make every effort to relieve patients' pain, provide warm care, and protect public health. Pan Suyan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Beijing Municipal Medical Management Center, said, "The exhibition and performance activities are just a microcosm and a phased summary of the medical humanities work of the municipal hospitals. In the next step, we will deeply explore the construction of humanistic hospitals, and contribute wisdom and strength to the construction of Healthy China and the 'Four Centers' of the capital." ”

The spirit of medical humanism has great value and significance for clinical diagnosis and treatment, and parallel medical record writing is an important tool for the implementation of medical humanities. Writing and interpreting parallel medical records is an important exploration to improve the humanistic quality of medical staff. In 2023, the Beijing Hospital Management Center will organize and carry out the "Striving for a New Journey and Contributing to a New Era" medical humanities post contribution activity, and hold a parallel medical record competition for the first time in the country.

This exhibition is the last part of the competition, and 102 excellent parallel medical records were selected after parallel medical record training, hospital selection, expert review and other links, including 15 first prizes, 20 second prizes, 30 third prizes, and 37 excellence awards. This edition will continue to present some excellent works to readers.
