IT Home reported on December 14 that Bose recently confirmed to foreign media Digital Trends that its smart audio glasses product Frames series has been discontinued. In an email sent by the former, Bose said it was "phasing out frames."

Image source Bose, the same Bose also said in the email, "Most of the inventory has been sold out, and between now and the holiday (IT House Note: usually refers to the holiday that includes Christmas-New Year's Day), users may see some (Frames series) products on Bose**, but by the end of this year, these products will no longer be sold, and existing Frames users will still receive official support from Bose." At the same time, Bose said that all valid warranties will still be maintained.

According to the report, since the launch of the Bose Frames series of products, it has received mixed reviews. Although the idea of fusing sunglasses or glasses in general with speakers and microphones is considered reasonable, the "disappointing" audio quality makes such products less useful. A commentator at Digital Trends once bluntly said in 2021 that "smart audio glasses are just a waste of space on your face".

According to a previous report by IT House, Bose launched a series of smart audio glasses Frames Alto in 2019 and landed in the domestic market, priced at 1,599 yuan, with two interchangeable lenses in mirror silver (polarized) and gradient blue (non-polarized), priced at 249 yuan and 159 yuan respectively.
