CMA CGM recently announced the launch of the AS2 fast ferry route connecting China and India, which will make its maiden voyage from Shanghai on December 3, and will be served by the ship "APL Minnesota".
According to reports, the AS2 route connects from Southeast Asia to major ports in the Indian subcontinent via Singapore, providing customers with fast and convenient services.
A total of 5 container ships are deployed on the AS2 route, with a voyage period of 35 days, and the port call sequence is: Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Colombo, Mundra, Nahwa Sheva, Singapore and Shanghai.
In mid-December, MSC will upgrade and adjust the "Santana" service on this US East route, calling at Yantian, Ningbo, Shanghai, Qingdao, and direct to New York.
The service will call at Yantian - Ningbo - Shanghai - Qingdao - Busan Newport - Manzanillo - Cristobal - Cocedo - New York, New York - Yantian.
The route "Santana" is operated independently by MSC, deploying 11 containers of about 13,000 to 15000 TEU, with one flight per week and a cycle time of 11 weeks. After the adjustment, Qingdao was added, and this increase came at the expense of the Port of Norfolk, making New York the only American port.
The first voyage of the adjusted "Santana" service is expected to be the 1,3092TEU "MSC EMMA" voyage UX349A, which will depart from the port of Qingdao on December 15.
