It is reported that Binchuan, as a key hometown of overseas Chinese in the province, established three overseas Chinese farms in Taihe, Binju and Caifeng respectively in 1960, 1962 and 1979 as a working base for the production, labor and study of returned overseas Chinese. It has successively resettled returned overseas Chinese from four countries, including India, Indonesia, Myanmar and Vietnam, as well as some sporadic returned overseas Chinese from Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia and other countries, and received and resettled more than 8,000 returned overseas Chinese, forming a special county situation of one county and three overseas Chinese farms. At present, there are 5,742 returned overseas Chinese and their relatives in the four overseas Chinese communities in the county, and more than 420 households have ties with more than 20 countries and regions.
