From December 8th to 11th, the 2023 Chengdu-Chongqing Children's Soft Baseball and Softball Carnival was held at the Sports Center of Jinniu District, Chengdu, and more than 600 children from Chengdu and Chongqing gathered in Chengdu Jinniu to fight for honor.
After two days of competition, 12 schools including Panzhihua Bingcaogang Second Neighborhood Kindergarten won the first prize of soft baseball and softball T-ball display activities, 12 schools including the Fourth Kindergarten of Jinniu District of Chengdu won the second prize of soft baseball and softball T-ball display activities, and 6 schools including Aidi Kindergarten of Chongqing High-tech Zone won the third prize of soft baseball and softball T-ball display activities.
The event was guided by the Sichuan Provincial Sports Bureau and the Chongqing Municipal Sports Bureau, hosted by the Chengdu Sports Bureau and the Sichuan Baseball and Softball Hockey Management Center, and undertaken by the Chengdu Youth Sports Federation, the Chongqing Youth Sports Association, and the Chengdu Jinniu District Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau. Co-organized by Chengdu Jinniu District Olin Company, supported by Chongqing Baseball and Softball Association. The event attracted 30 kindergartens and more than 60 referees from 10 cities including Chengdu, Chongqing, Mianyang, Luzhou, Zigong, Bazhong, Leshan, Panzhihua, Suining and Emeishan to participate in the event and share the charm of baseball and softball.
Softball is specially designed to promote baseball and softball to young children and teenagers, and has been recognized as the most suitable outdoor sports in kindergartens in developed regions such as the United States, Japan, and Australia. The basic skills of softball and softball, such as passing, catching and running, can be integrated into daily teaching and training in the way that children like to play and activities, which can not only allow children to exercise their physical coordination and enhance physical fitness in sports, but also strengthen their sense of rules and discipline, improve their ability to cooperate, and promote children's physical and mental health and happy growth.
At the event site, the children wore uniform baseball and softball uniforms, held soft baseball and softball bats, and played the game seriously. They wielded their bats and hit the ball hard, showing a strong sense of competition and the spirit of not admitting defeat. The audience also applauded their wonderful performance, and the scene was very enthusiastic.
According to the physical and mental characteristics and development needs of children of different ages, the organizing committee divided the competition into three events: "ace pitcher", "ace batter", and soft baseball and softball (T-ball) display activities, which are both interesting and challenging, so that children can experience the joy of sports while effectively implementing the purpose of enhancing the physical fitness of teenagers and young children.
The success of this children's softball and softball carnival not only provided a joyful and interesting sports experience for the children, but also allowed them to learn to help each other and respect others in teamwork. This activity not only exercised the children's physical fitness, but also cultivated their team spirit and sense of competition, and at the same time guided more families of young children to attach importance to sports and actively participate in sports, so that the children could truly "run".
