Magnetic particle flaw detectorThe PBU 350 is a portable magnetic particle inspection MPI bench that provides superior magnetic particle inspection performance. A gas spring is used to provide clamping pressure on the headstock to ensure contact with the component under test. We have also developed coils that provide bi-directional clamping that allows the coil to rotate manually at 90 degrees for maximum inspection flexibility.

Magnetic particle flaw detector features:

Only 13 amps of power is required.

Operating range: 1000 amps AC rms current (1800 amps peak equivalent current). HWDC 700 amps is twice the average (= magnetic amps) and 350 amps is the average equivalent.

The current pre-selection system is optional.

Stainless steel construction.

Compact integrated power pack.

AC HWDC magnetization.

The standard shooting time is 3 seconds and 3 seconds (dual shooting time is also available).

Demagnetization cycle. Gas spring pressure on the headstock and manually locking tailstock.

Current - Copper braided contact pads and V-block brackets.

Optional flow rates. The foot switch is easy to use.

Optional "bi-directional" coil.

The PBU-350 is available with a choice of 100mm or 150mm MPI coils, sandwiched between the nose and tailstock. The point of the Baugh &Weedon PBU-350 coils is that they are bidirectional, which means that one coil can be rotated at 90° and clamped in either direction, which means you can easily investigate defects in either direction.
