Installation method of SMT-1 soil moisture meter
Tool preparation
Soil moisture meter, certificate, instruction manual and other materials, self-prepared soil drill, mud mixing container, mud shovel, gloves and other installation.
Items required. The built-in battery should be charged for 5 to 6 hours before installation to ensure that the built-in battery is sufficient.
Installation site selection
Soil moisture monitoring stations should be representative of the main crops and the typical soils of the region, when combined.
The soil type, planting structure and topographic and geomorphological conditions of the land are comprehensively determined to determine the layout of moisture monitoring stations and the indicators collected.
It can reflect the actual situation on the ground.
In order to maintain the consistency and continuity of moisture monitoring data, the monitoring position should be relatively stable, and should not be changed arbitrarily once determined.
Installation Steps
1. Hold the soil extraction drill upright on the ground, hold the handle with both hands and press down clockwise and rotate slowly (note: don't use too much force, be sure to turn a few times slowly to prevent the drill bit from running off and the hole from being crooked).
2. Pull out the full soil drill and clean the soil drill, repeat this process until it meets the depth, and collect the soil and mud drilled.
3. Repeatedly continue to punch and take soil, and try to put the soil moisture meter into the hole (do not touch the soil moisture meter to the bottom) in the process to test whether the depth of the hole is appropriateIf there is a jam, use a soil drill to correct it to ensure that the soil moisture meter is put in and taken out relatively smoothly;Until the hole depth is flush with the installation position indicated by the soil moisture meter, the hole making is completed.
4. Pick out impurities, stones, roots, soil clods that are not easy to dissolve, etc., pour an appropriate amount of water, stir fully until viscous, and complete with mud.
5. Pour the mud into the hole, about half of the hole, and then insert the soil moisture meter into the hole, rotate the soil moisture meter left and right, so that the mud is evenly distributed around the soil moisture meter. Rotate slowly and insert down (note: do not pull up during the rotation and downward pressure to prevent the gas from being drawn into the hole again).
6. When the soil moisture meter is pressed down to a suitable depth (the ground plane should be flush with the 0cm ruler of the protective pipe), the installation hole should be around.
Accumulate some of the spilled mud, and the installation is completed at this time (Note: The mud must overflow in order to remove all the air inside the hole.
and wait for one to two days for the mud to dry before starting monitoring.
7. Solar panel installation (optional).
