Not every international student's destination is in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen - giving up being an "urban beauty" and "a master" does not mean "sinking".
In 2021, I graduated from a bachelor's degree in Guangzhou University, and with the help of a study abroad agent, I successfully applied for a graduate degree in economics at a university in Hong Kong, and started studying in Hong Kong in August of that year. While gaining knowledge during my study, I felt a different learning atmosphere. Master's studies were a transition period for me from student to work.

When you look for a job, you start by getting to know yourself
My major is economics and management, but it is not as specific and clear as the employment of science and engineering students.
For some science and engineering majors, many positions will clearly state which computing language is required, or clarify the recruitment needs. However, most of my majors are theoretical knowledge, and it is difficult to have a technical threshold, and the direction of finding a job is not very clear.
Therefore, I think we can think about the direction of employment from two different situations:1.I have already thought about my future and have a clear plan, and this internship is to gain experience in the relevant industry in the future.
During my study abroad, I found that many students have already thought about the specific jobs they want to engage in in the future, such as many students in economics and management who plan to engage in finance-related fields in the future.
However, finance is a major category, and it is not clear whether it is necessary to engage in securities companies and first-class banks. Therefore, the internship must be positioned in the financial direction and not waste energy in other directions.
At the same time, when you can't figure out which field you can go into, and then in the process of communicating with people who are engaged in the profession, you can clarify what aspects of internship experience and specific skills you need to supplement.
2.I didn't have a clear idea of what I wanted to do, like myself.
I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do, I only knew that I would be engaged in the direction related to my major, but I also wanted to feel working in a high-rise building in a first-tier city, and fulfill my dream of becoming an urban beauty when I was a child.
Therefore, when I cast a wide net when I submitted my resume for internship, I paid more attention to the *** and software of intern recruitment. When there is no goal, overseas investment is also a good choice.
Before returning to the county seat
1. The work of state-owned enterprises in Guangzhou
In July, after the results of the examination at the end of the course, I began to submit my resume as a fresh graduate and received an invitation to the written examination for the management position of a state-owned enterprise.
Interview experience in state-owned enterprise pen
At that time, the written interviews were all conducted on the **. The online written test mainly examines the conduct test and personality analysis, and a formal interview will be conducted after receiving the response.
I think the interview is the most important thing. No matter how well the resume is written, no matter how beautiful the person is, and no matter how good the grades are, if you can't pass the hurdle of the interviewer, it is equivalent to working hard in vain.
Interview process
My interviewer at that time was the teacher who took me in the follow-up internship, and I had to dress neatly and energetically for the formal interview, and show the best of them.
Before the interview, you should be fully prepared, practice a one-minute self-introduction, and understand the situation of the company and the position. The mindset should be correct. Be confident, speak with confidence, and the volume should be appropriate, not too big and not too small, but you must not be soft, which is also a sign of lack of confidence. It is best to use appropriate body language when speaking, and to properly embody the art of speaking.
In addition, in the interview of state-owned enterprises, the interviewer will mainly ask questions about the activities and competitions that the student participated in during his or her time. While maintaining a good attitude, you should also familiarize yourself with your resume.
A few days later, I received an internship offer from the company, and soon began a six-month internship.

Internship
My colleagues and interns around me all graduated from well-known universities at home and abroad, and at the beginning, I felt a little uncomfortable when I graduated from an ordinary bachelor's degree and a graduate student.
However, fortunately, with the experience of studying abroad and the right professional match, I was able to give full play to my professional advantages during the internship process, and I was able to confidently and boldly express my ideas through my own study abroad experience and vision during the group's project.
The night before returning home.
However, over time, I found that the workload kept increasing. From the beginning of the punctual work, to seven o'clock in the evening, to the first o'clock to get off work, the longer the time drags on. And the corporate atmosphere is very volatile, and I am very tired when I return to the rental house every day, and I don't have the heart to do anything at all.
At that time, it dawned on me that if I had to live like this all the time, I would definitely not be able to bear it.
Post-internship
After the internship, my obsession with urban beauty was reduced a lot, and I began to think about what else I could do.
When I was studying abroad, I longed for the life of an urban beauty.
I don't feel that "it is a waste or regret that I have not been able to continue to develop in a state-owned enterprise for a long time". On the contrary, I believe that when the cost of trial and error is low, you should try to choose your own field of interest for an internship first.
Internships can be as short as one month and as long as half a year. Don't overburden yourself, and try it even if you don't feel like you're up to the job described in the job. Only by doing it first can you get more information to think about your next step.

2. Prepare for the civil service examination
In order to get rid of the exhausting life in the big city, after the internship, I began to prepare for the public exam full-time
Take notes when preparing for the exam.
The pain of the examination is still uncertain. I prepared for the exam for a year and didn't get ashore.
Many of my classmates and friends have found suitable jobs and their lives are on the right track, and I am also starting to feel anxious and worried. Will it take a lot of effort to read a book and come back, but I can't find a job?I was hesitant to continue preparing for the exam or to get a job.
At this moment, fate came full circle, and an olive branch was extended to his hometown.

Third, the introduction of talents
It just so happened that I found a talent introduction program on our local **official website***, which requires a graduate degree. Talent introduction examination form
The forms of talent introduction examinations mainly include written examinations, interviews, structured interviews and leaderless group discussions, and the actual examination methods should be determined according to the number of applicants.
The first round of the examination for student Z is a written test, and the second round is an interview. If the number of applicants for the position is small, there is only one round of examination, which is mainly for interviews to learn about academic qualifications, awards, honors and research directions. Most interviews are structured interviews, with occasional leaderless group discussions.
During the preparation process, you can learn about the local industry culture and current affairs in advance. Some of the questions in the structured interview are based on recent hot events.
I signed up with the mindset of giving it a try – and I went ashore.
Returning to the county seat also starts with understanding yourself
Returned to the county seat
No regrets, no regrets, I fit here
Before I decided to join the company, I had to do a long psychological struggle.
Is it really worth spending a lot of money to go out to study and then go back to work in a small city? Will you regret returning to a small county after graduating from graduate school?
The answer I got in the end was: no.
Even though I still see my friends who are working hard outside the home, and envy them for having a richer life in the big city, everyone has their own lifestyle that they like and are suitable for. Life back in a small county town is more dull than in a big city, but it's a life I like, the work is relatively stable, and it's easy to get along with colleagues.
Happy time in my hometown.
Today, I'm enjoying my 9-to-5 job in my hometown. I can go home and live with my parents, I don't have to go out to rent a house by myself, and I can ask my friends to come out for a small get-together in my free time. This kind of life seems to be quite good.
I don't regret it, and I don't regret my choice.
In the process of job hunting, I also had a lot of bumps and disappointments. If I had to give advice, I think it would be important to establish a goal as early as possible. Understand the employment situation, pay more attention to the goal** and summarize the recruitment information*** to obtain first-hand recruitment information, and understand today's recruitment needs.
Of course, this is based both on self-improvement and on one's own choices.
Studying and studying abroad is to increase one's knowledge;Internships and jobs are for the purpose of clarifying one's own direction. Education is a stepping stone, and it is a stepping stone for one's own development, which ultimately serves people, rather than alienating people into prisoners who must chase them and expect themselves to be worthy of it.
Don't worry, don't be anxious. It's also an experience to explore the road and know where your true happiness liesWhat's more, life never "goes back to square one".
Encourage everyone.
