The Yellow Emperor, the legendary ancestor of the Chinese nation, is surnamed Ji, called Xuanyuan and Youxiong. As the son of Shaodian, he not only defeated Emperor Yan, but also hunted down Chiyou, and eventually became the leader of the tribal alliance at that time. In Huangling County, northern Shaanxi, people built a magnificent Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor to express their respect for this great ancestor. These are commonly found in various historical texts, but they are not recognized by historians. In fact, people have been debating the true identity of the Yellow Emperor for thousands of years, trying to unravel the mystery of this ancestor.

Regarding the identity of the Yellow Emperor, some believe that he is a mythical figure. Mr. Yuan Ke, a well-known mythology expert in China, believes that the Yellow Emperor was the god of thunder and lightning at first, and later rose to become the first emperor of heaven. On Kunlun Mountain, there is a solemn and gorgeous palace, which is considered to be the imperial capital of the Yellow Emperor in the lower realm, and it is also the palace where he often comes to play.

Legend has it that the Yellow Emperor had four faces and was able to take into account the four directions of east, west, north and south at the same time, and deal with what happened to all parties in a timely manner. However, there are also some scholars who believe that the Yellow Emperor is a real historical figure. They mainly describe the life of the Yellow Emperor based on the records in the "Records of the Five Emperors". In this account, the Yellow Emperor is called the son of Shaodian, surnamed Gongsun, and named Xuanyuan.

From an early age, he showed extraordinary talent, and with his ingenuity and literary skills, he conquered the Quartet and unified the tribes of China. He established the prototype of the early state, turned a new page in the history of Chinese civilization, and became the ancestor of the Chinese nation. The issue of the gender of the Yellow Emperor has also caused widespread controversy. Although he is generally believed to be a man, there are also historical records that he was a woman. Mr. Wen Yiduo once wrote the article "Five Emperors Say for Women", proposing that the Yellow Emperor and other characters are women, and they are still a pair of sisters with Emperor Yan. However, some scholars have studied from the perspective of anthropology and ethnology and believe that no ethnic group that is still in the stage of matrilineal clan society has practiced the system of women serving as clan heads. They believe that calling the Yellow Emperor a woman is a misunderstanding of the historical sources.

There are also different theories about the burial place of the Yellow Emperor. Whether the bridge mountain in the "Yellow Emperor collapsed and buried the bridge mountain" recorded in the "Historical Records of the Five Emperors" is the bridge mountain in Shaanxi, and whether the Yellow Emperor's mausoleum is buried with the true body of the Yellow Emperor, the accounts in the historical materials are not consistent. It is recorded in the "Wei Tuji": "There is a bridge mountain forty miles southeast of Xia Luocheng, there is a hot spring under the mountain, there is a sacrificial hall in Quanshan, and the carved eaves Huayu is on the pu." Xialuocheng is now Zhuolu County, Hebei Province. The sacrificial hall described in the text is located on the bridge mountain in the south of Hot Spring Tun Village, Hot Spring Township, 40 miles southeast of Zhuolu City. The mountain gets its name from a naturally formed arched stone bridge at the top of the mountain. Historical materials such as "Notes on the Book of Water" and "Book of Wei" also have records of emperors of previous dynasties going to Zhuoluqiao Mountain to worship the Yellow Emperor. Some scholars believe that Zhuolu is the place where the Yellow Emperor fought and lived. Legend has it that the ancient city on the west side of Jinshan Town, Zhuolu County, also known as the Yellow Emperor City, is considered to be the imperial capital of Xuanyuan Yellow Emperor, that is, the so-called Xuanyuan Hill. It can be inferred from this that after the death of the Yellow Emperor, there was no need or reason to transport the body to Shaanxi thousands of miles away for burial. Therefore, the Yellow Emperor's Mausoleum in Shaanxi is likely to be the Yellow Emperor's clothed mausoleum. Search Topic Full Time Challenge December
